Cybersecurity analysts are drowning in an increasingly data-dense security environment. Teams are overburdened. The industry faces a dire talent shortage that threatens the resilience of both government and commercial organizations. 

Andesite is building the next generation cybersecurity analyst experience, with an Analyst-Obsessed approach. Our mission is to supercharge the analysts protecting our country’s networks. When analysts work in our advanced AI security analytics platform, they can analyze decentralized data sets at scale and more quickly respond to threats. They become better and smarter, just by doing the things they’re already built to do. 

We have deep experience with this problem. Our team is born out of the security community and comes from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences including the CIA, NSA, military, big tech, and startups.  

After being co-developed by Red Cell Partners’ Cyber Practice and General Catalyst, we raised a $15M seed round and are rapidly scaling. 

The Role:  

At Andesite, we are Analyst-Obsessed. We build product starting with a deep understanding of the needs of hands-on-keyboard analysts. 

The potential mission applications across both government and commercial are exciting and we’re adding muscle to our Product team. We’re looking for a Principal Product Designer with expertise in UI/UX to ensure that we ship coherent and compelling product experiences for our users. You’ll report to the Director of Product Management and help shape Andesite’s product suite and strategy, and the Product team itself. 

What You’ll Do: 

• Master our users’ unique mission needs and requirements and work cross-functionally to capture and curate user-friendly product design solutions 
• Shape product direction based on iterative learnings from users and customers, and Andesite’s vision for the user experience 
• Establish and maintain Andesite’s design system guidelines, best practices, and standards to ensure consistent experiences across products and platforms 
• Deliver design assets such as wireframes, storyboards, flowcharts, process maps, production designs, design specifications, mockups, and any other assets necessary to guide development work 
• Collaborate closely across Product, Engineering, and Growth through the product development lifecycle to ensure efficient and accurate implementation of designs 

Who You Are: 

• 7+ years of experience in product design or a related field, ideally in a fast-paced and growing startup 
• Ability to understand and engage with personas such as security analysts and CISOs and empathize with their unique needs 
• Demonstrated portfolio of shipping compelling customer experiences that have impacted business and customer metrics 
• Deep expertise in collaborating cross-functionally, especially with engineering, to successfully deliver on complex design projects 
• Exceptional organizational and execution capabilities 
• An attitude of learning and a desire to stay up to date with industry trends and best practices 
• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, and/or Adobe Creative Suite 
• Expertise in the creation and maintenance of design systems for enterprise software applications 
• Familiarity with responsive design to ship products across diverse platforms, devices, and user environments 
• Experience working in an agile development process 

Bonus Points:  

• Experience or familiarity with cybersecurity principles, threat modeling, and secure design practices 
• Experience building 0-to-1 operating processes for product design to improve consistency, quality, and quantity of the Product team 
• Understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their impact on product design 
• Experience in product or experience working with users in the military and civilian government on software product deployments
