Job Description

Our team is responsible for delivering datacenter capacity for Microsoft's cloud business. We have a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects specific to safety, quality, schedule, and cost goals.
We're looking for an experienced leader to support and influence the delivery of network capacity in a fast-paced production environment. The Principal Program Manager selected for this role will help us to accelerate achieving our objectives, growth, and transformation by strategically leading a team to evolve and transform our Business Desk processes. The individual selected must Model, Coach, Care and support the team and programs with; strategy, training, creating, and managing rhythm of the business, and leading process improvement within CO+I.
A successful candidate will have cross group organizational skills, demonstrate empathy, well developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities, experience enabling action from data and a passion to automate processes. Must remain resilient and constructive when faced with changes and can quickly adapt.

Business Partnership and Communication:
  • Influence others via communication, effective data visualization, and storytelling.
  • Provide active support and proactive tools to allow for visibility of business health.
  • Drive actionable insights and business accountability based on outcomes of data analysis.
  • Support requests from leaders for ad hoc analysis to drive regional business reviews.

Operational Brilliance:
  • Facilitation of end to end procure to pay and operational program management through financial project closeout (i.e., tools, processes, capabilities, procedures etc.).

Process Excellence:
  • Establish and ensure success of ongoing processes to promote greater impact and appropriate consistency and programmatic efficiency.
  • Focus on elimination of manual steps, tightening of operational controls and optimization without compromising compliance.

Trusted Advisor:
  • Provide direction and guidance to internal stakeholders answering related questions or issues.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 8+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 6+ years management (e.g., people, project, process, vendor, change) experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience in business process, operations, or finance/accounting
  • Demonstrated influencing skills, with proven ability to handle multiple stakeholders across various levels of the organization, work streams and prioritize as needed, including pushing back
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of effectively collaborating across large teams and disciplines
  • Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills; adept at using data to influence business decision making
  • Agile in focus and communications - shifting from strategic to tactical depending audience and needs
  • Experience with building and managing process flows, conducting training as required
  • Demonstrated Growth Mindset with a focus on Diversity and Inclusion
  • Telecom or Cloud related experience
These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Business Program Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $266,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $292,200 per year.
Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets (see below). The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role (except as noted below); the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate's primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role. Benefits/perks listed here may vary depending on the nature of employment with Microsoft and the country work location. U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and wellbeing benefits, among others. U.S.-based employees also receive, per calendar year, up to 10 scheduled paid holidays, and up to 80 hours Holistic Health Time Off. Additionally, hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid vacation time, and salaried/exempt employees have Discretionary Time Off (DTO).
