Job Description

The Electronic Warfare and Novel Capabilities Group (EWNC) in the STR Sensors Division develops advanced signal processing algorithms, conducts experiment campaigns, and prototypes systems for next generation radar and electronic warfare systems. Design, build, and test roles within the Group include RF analog/digital hardware, advanced electronic warfare algorithms and techniques, signal processing, cognitive electronic warfare applications, optimization, and real-time embedded processor implementation.
As a Principal Radar & Electronic Warfare Signal Processing Engineer, you will create and lead technical teams that design, analyze, and demonstrate novel signal processing, optimization, and machine learning algorithms for advanced electronic warfare and sensor applications. These algorithms will be integrated into models and simulations at various levels of complexity and demonstrated on hardware in the field or in a laboratory setting.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop electronic warfare and radar system concepts, signal processing algorithms, and RF solutions for remote sensing challenges
  • Provide technical leadership to multi-disciplinary teams that develop and implement novel sensing, electronic warfare, and signal processing systems
  • Design and implement models and simulations of advanced RF systems
  • Clearly communicate with customers, stakeholders, sponsors, prime- and subcontractors
  • Lead and support business development and proposal writing efforts
  • Mentor junior staff

Requirements:
A successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills and substantial expertise in several of the following areas: optimization, electronic warfare, adaptive signal processing, machine learning, algorithm development, test & evaluation, model & simulation, systems engineering, or radar systems.
  • U.S. citizenship with active Security Clearance, and eligible to support special access programs
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in advanced research and development projects
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, technical, leadership, and mentorship, skills
  • Ability to create and present deep technical briefings as well as high-level briefings to customers and senior management
  • Understanding and experience in interacting with decision-makers and customers to translate mission needs into an end-to-end analytical solution
  • Ability to survey literature to determine state-of-the-art, incorporate recent research and apply to current problem sets

Experience:
  • 5+ years for PhD, 8+ years for MS, 10+ years for BS

Education:
  • PhD, MS, or BS in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related technical discipline
