Microsoft Windows & Devices Software team is on a journey to create new experiences on the Windows platform. The Windows Silicon and Software Integration team is seeking a talented software architect with excellent coding skills and a strong background in large scale software architecture & design. This position will be responsible for bringing together silicon and software architects from across Azure, Windows, Xbox, and Microsoft 365 to deliver vertically integrated experiences that are highly optimized.
This Principal Software Development Enginneer is a key technical leadership role, and the ideal candidate has a blend of technical skills and the ability to work across teams to build consensus. The candidate must be comfortable being super hands on with coding while having the necessary skills to communicate complex concepts in technical forums. • Be a key contributor in small, fast-moving, cross org v-team of developers that will be the tip of the spear for strategically critical investments.
• Deliver high quality code at a good velocity.
• Provide technical and thought leadership in relevant focus areas.
• Partner with teams across Microsoft to build best in class, end-to-end experiences for our customers.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years of expert-level coding experience in C/C++
• 5+ years' experience contributing to the design and build of large-scale distributed systems, with hands-on coding involved.
• Demonstratable experience as a technical leader with strong design skills for large feature areas.
• Demonstratable ability to quickly ramp-up on complex and unfamiliar code, and ability to pick up new languages/frameworks as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scaling across the client SW stack, from kernel to UX
• Recent working knowledge of or experience in artificial intelligence
• Strong communication skills required, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms.
