Principal Software Engineer – Team Lead (.NET Core/Angular)

Unanet is looking for a Principal Software Engineer – Team Lead to drive both delivery of team results and nurture career growth for individual contributors. What You’ll DoÂ
- Lead and motivate a cross-functional team of software engineers to consistently meet delivery timelines with high quality
- Provide hands-on development capacity and mentorship; foster a collaborative environment for skill development
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Product Managers to define and measure team success
- Mentor and empower other engineers to deliver on their commitments
- Provide constructive peer review on merge requests to increase code quality
- Influence the technical landscape by presenting ideas, driving architectural decisions, and contributing to our technical roadmap
- Uphold best practices and quality standards with design and code reviews throughout the SDLC
- Play an integral role in the hiring process to expand and elevate our growing Product team
- Flesh out user stories to be consumed by the rest of your teamÂ
Your First 90 DaysÂ
In Your First 30 DaysÂ
- You’ll work with our Web Team Lead and Tech Leads from other front-end teams as well as our API/Platform team to understand our product architecture, standards, and development toolsÂ
- You’ll get hands on in our current web stack (25% of your time)Â
- You’ll work with your Product Owner to get oriented to the team backlog and prioritiesÂ
- You’ll establish healthy working relationships with Support staff Â
- With support from our Scrum Master, you’ll familiarize yourself with our scrum ceremonies and release processesÂ
In Your First 60 DaysÂ
- In partnership with Product Management, you’ll co-create a backlog of work to systematically add new features from which the entire team can pull work items fromÂ
- You’ll lead backlog refinements on a strategic product initiativeÂ
- You’ll build strong working relationships with individual contributors and familiarize with their strengthsÂ
- You’ll familiarize yourself with the logging/monitoring tooling needed to diagnose product issuesÂ
In Your First 90 DaysÂ
- You’ll help instill the discipline of effectively monitoring and creating work items from our SDLC process, including monitoring issues in our lower environments and help with issues in our production environments
- You’ll collaborate with Tech Leads to progress our technical roadmap and future deliveries
- You’ll help mentor and train other engineers on our front-end and back-end development frameworks
- You will play a meaningful role in helping hire future members to our growing Product Team
- You’ll become a subject matter expert on the product components for which your team is primarily responsibleÂ
Who You AreÂ
- 7+ years of full stack development experienceÂ
- 2+ years leading a full stack software development teamÂ
- 3+ years of C# .NET Core experienceÂ
- 2+ years of front-end development experience using a modern JavaScript framework (web or mobile)Â
- Experience working in a disciplined Agile environment
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related fieldÂ

How We Define Team LeadÂ
You will lead the Scrum Team (i.e., who does what and when) in partnership with our Product Owner. You’ll efficiently manage Scrum activities with the support of a dedicated Scrum Master. You’ll also contribute to production-deliverables (code) at least 50% of the time.Â

The salary range for this opportunity is $150,000 - $165,000 per year. You will be eligible for employee equity as well as discretionary bonus compensation, subject to plans that may be in effect from time to time.
