The Capacity Supply Chain and Provisioning (CSCP) group is an exciting and fast evolving group within Microsoft whose vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering cloud capacity differentiated at scale. The organization is responsible for planning, delivery, and provision of all data centers globally powering Microsoft cloud properties. CSCP supports over 200 online businesses including Bing, O365, OneDrive, Xbox, and Windows Azure branded services.
Cloud Sourcing and Supply Chain (CSSC) organization within CSCP manages sourcing and supply of IT hardware for the data centers. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable on-time performance, optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. We are looking for a Principal Sourcing Manager to help build sustainable advantages through the supply chain.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technical sourcing,business development, field application engineering, sales, product line management, or relevant technical & business acumen related roles
- OR Master's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 6+ years experience in technical sourcing,business development, field application engineering, sales, product line management, or relevant technical & business acumen related roles
- OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Network hardware or software.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to drive favorable commercial terms.
- Demonstrated influencing skills with a track record of developing and nurturing key stakeholder relationships.
- Experience in system and architecture cost analysis and business modeling
- Thrives in an ambiguous, dynamic and fast paced environment.

Responsibilities:
The role of Principal Sourcing Manager will focus on the following key areas:
- Guide network infrastructure direction for High speed and management switching across the Azure's intra-DC portfolio.
- Front end engagement with our suppliers, network architecture and engineering teams to identify optimization opportunities and drive differentiated product roadmaps.
- Early engagement with our suppliers, network architecture and engineering teams to identify optimization opportunities and drive product solutions around design for availability and total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Enable design for availability and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) utilizing market dynamics, benchmarking, and trends.
- Establish sourcing strategy across relevant partners to drive long-term goals of Technology Adoption, COS (Continuity of Supply), cost, Quality, Business Health and Sustainability
- Serve as the supplier relationship manager for respective categories.
- Provide thought leadership and manage strategic initiatives with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support Azure cloud strategies.
