Responsibilities:

The team provides leadership, direction and accountability for application architecture, Cloud design, Infrastructure development and end to end implementation for our Sovereign and Government Clouds. As a Principal Program Manager, you will work across organizational boundaries to conduct business reviews, operate our production services, drive our planning and product roadmap, and work our services through compliance and accreditation activities. Strong collaboration skills will be required to work closely within your team and other engineering, compliance, finance, and security teams to ensure our services meet the requirements of internal and external customers and users. You will work with key stakeholders to drive strategic business priorities and execution roadmaps.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Planning & Execution Excellence: Manage and facilitate the rhythm of business for the team, including regular staff meetings, post-incident response reviews, and semester planning. Drive alignment to a multi-year roadmap in conjunction with Engineering Managers and senior engineering individual contributors by making data-driven decisions.
  • Communications: Enhance employee engagement by producing written and visual communication assets that elicit employee engagement through impactful internal messaging with a consistent voice and visual content for team meetings and other events.
  • Compliance & Accreditation: Drive our services through the defined Government and Microsoft service accreditation process.
  • Participate in an on-call Incident Manager rotation (typically 24/7 for one week every 6-8 weeks) within a secure facility.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

  • Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must have an active Top Secret and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Software Engineers, Program Managers, Security Researchers, and Data Scientists
  • Experience with program management for cloud computing, online services, enterprise software development, engineering and/or operations at scale.
  • Proficient understanding of certification requirements and translating into actionable engineering plans
  • Attention to detail and willingness to dive into technical details.
  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), and/or PMP (Project Management Professional)

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
