Product Management Summer Internship - Work from home - Evernorth

This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

Where You'll Work

This Internship will be working with the Transparency and Interoperability solutions team at Evernorth and work on improving and marketing our digital products. During this internship, the individual will work cross functionally with many business units at Evernorth. This role will support the vision of bringing new innovation and cutting edge technology into physician offices. During the summer internship, you will have the opportunity to collaborate within your department and across the business while learning from some of our brightest and most innovative employees in your area of focus.

What You'll Do

• Research the current healthcare industry to assess current vendors, tools, and technologies related to clinical interoperability and transparency
• Participate in recommendation for process improvements or inefficiencies that impact the analysis efforts
• Research news, press releases, and technologies in the digital solutions space (i.e. eRX, ePA - electronic pharmacy prescriptions and prior authorizations, Real Time Benefit Check, Clinical Interoperability, medical benefit transparency solutions)
• Create and present reports to internal cross functional teams
• Become familiar with various industry events, organizations, and association based on engagement portfolio
• Create and present updates to management
• Previous project examples:
  • Providing clinical data to our customers and providers
  • Providing quality data that meets The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services rigorous standards and Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology
  • Providing internal and external partners with clinical data across the enterprise

Qualifications

• Rising junior or senior Bachelor's Degree students pursuing degrees in Health Services, Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Management or related field
• 3.0 GPA or higher preferred.

• Previous exposure to healthcare data and data-driven processes
• Strong attention to detail and ability to think analytically
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong business aptitude and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; interest in digital solutions
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
• Self-starter with a savvy mind that is eager to learn new skills

Schedule: You must be available to work a 40-hour work week for 10-12 weeks summer 2023, beginning May 22, 2023.

This role can work from home from any US location.

For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate between $19.00 and $22.00 an hour depending on relevant factors, including major and year of study.

One goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for roles with Cigna post-graduation. Therefore, this temporary internship is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
