About the role

Dune is on a mission to make crypto data accessible. We do that by building the most powerful data solution the world has ever seen, and by fostering and growing an amazing community of analysts and builders (aka wizards). The next stage in our charter includes shipping an API that pushes the envelope of crypto data accessibility beyond what’s currently possible with Dune’s web app, or with any other solution in the market for that matter.

The API team is responsible for building a new interface for accessing and interacting with Dune, programmatically. As the team’s PM, you’ll play a pivotal role in the launch of the Dune API, by listening to our users needs, working with Engineering to translate those needs into a concrete plan, and help the team execute on it to ensure a successful outcome.

As a PM of the Dune API, you will be key in ensuring a state of the art developer experience for our users and customers. You will dive deep into user needs and use cases to understand which problems we need to solve and why they matter. You will partner with our Engineering Lead and work from within the Engineering team to deliver the solution that many users, from weekend wizards, to DAOs and some of the biggest organizations in the world are already craving for. You will lead the launch and partner with other internal stakeholders to make its release and growth a success.

With your help the Dune API will fundamentally change the crypto data stack forever.

In this role you will

• Lead the team’s vision and strategy, and align the team around it.

• Drive the discovery process of the API, uncovering user needs and use cases.

• Scope the API that we should launch with, and bring clarity to its roadmap post-launch.

• Help the team execute on their launch plan, and with backlog management going forward.

• Partner up with other stakeholders across Dune to ensure a successful launch.

• Help increase the team’s operational rigor by finding and setting metrics to measure success and inform future Product decisions.

You might be a great fit for this role if you have

• Strong empathy for users and other stakeholders.

• A strong background in Product Management.

• A technical understanding of APIs, data and data systems.

• Exceptional communication skills.

• Prioritization and problem solving skills.

• Experience working with APIs as a Software Engineer.

Not required but a plus if you have

• Experience working as a PM on a developer focused product.

• Used Dune before to create queries.

• Knowledge of how blockchains, smart contracts and such things work.

• Extensive experience with SQL.
