Job Description
GENERAL FUNCTION
The Product Manager, Cheque Cashing & Fee Products will oversee and guide our cheque cashing and small business product portfolio within North America, while simultaneously providing thought leadership for business line strategy and enabling the execution of initiatives to deliver on financial plans. With full P&L ownership, this individual will build our commercial business, incorporating both the existing core cheque cashing business with the newer small business portfolio. In this highly cross-functional role, the Sr. Manager will also work alongside other heads of business to deliver on department and company goals.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ownership of the product roadmap, along with full P&L ownership of the Canadian and US core cheque cashing business - personal and commercial
- Manage small business partner relationships and onboarding
- Work closely with our technology teams to guide current product features and develop new features
- Build small business and commercial cheque cashing program – driving synergies to push cross product utilization
- Plan and strategize internal and external growth opportunities, testing new channel and acquisition opportunities
- Drive robust and reliable insights, utilizing Tableau to manage business insights and drive performance
- Manage the regulatory compliance aspect of products
- Monitor the competitive landscape and stay abreast of new initiatives within the market
- Create and implement a strategic plan across multiple product channels and geographies
- Build reports and presentations for leadership
- Work with retail and channel leaders to deliver plan results
- Work closely with cross functional teams to build and implement marketing initiatives
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree required and a graduate degree in a related field is highly desirable
EXPERIENCE
- 5-7 years of consumer lending product experience
- Subject matter expert in the Canadian financial services space
- Small business lending experience or commercial experience
- Demonstrated experience in product development, along with knowledge of product management strategies
- Omnichannel distribution experience – both retail and digital delivery
- Credit Risk with Sub Prime experience considered an asset
- Experience in the alternative financial services space considered an asset
SKILLS
- Strong financial acumen
- Well versed in macro/micro market analysis
- Deep analytical capabilities - must be able to use Tableau
- Ability to collaborate with peers to deliver on cross functional priorities
- Strong leaderships skills, with the ability to build and grow a diverse team
- Great communication skills – both written and verbal
- Capable of managing complex problems and providing fact-based recommendations
