Neuromodulation

Our Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum.

As the Product Manager, Global & Upstream Marketing - Brain Therapies you will have a chance to work closely with cross-functional partners in sales, regulatory, R&D, manufacturing, clinical affairs and downstream marketing to develop and deploy Abbott Brian Therapy's strategic priorities, long term goals and strategic vision.

Ultimately, the incumbent in this position will be regarded as a therapy, product and market expert in the field of Deep Brain Stimulation, with broad knowledge of global marketing and new product development.

What You'll Work On
  • Serves as the voice of the patient, clinician, and sale rep on development programs, backing positions and decisions with data and current market knowledge
  • Develops and owns customer requirements and provides benchmark analysis vs. competition
  • Offer leadership to R&D and support organizations throughout development cycle (e.g. lead trade-off analysis, financial, and timeline impact)
  • Performs market research, competitive analysis, forecasting and ROI for justification of features and improvements
  • Regularly conducts qualitative and quantitative research that defines an insight-driven product roadmap and competitive landscape
  • Sets growth vision for therapy area, identifies unmet needs and new markets, advocates for solutions, builds business cases, and secures organizational support for the roadmap
  • Contributes to annual global marketing plan by providing segmentation of the market, targeting and positioning, and all aspects of the marketing mix (product, place/distribution, price, and integrated marketing/promotion)
  • Leads global commercial launch planning and execution for new products and indications
  • Ownership of portfolio lifecycle management including clinical data planning, inventory and pricing strategy, competitive planning, market expansion & exit assessments
  • Works closely with both US and international regional marketing teams
  • Contributes to global congress meeting planning and preparation
  • Represents the business during product demonstrations, testing programs, advisory boards, and across various global congresses and events
  • Leads global market expansion, exit, and product lifecycle strategy for Brain Therapies
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline and 5 years progressively responsible marketing, sales, clinical or engineering work experience experience or Master's degree and 4+ years work experience or Ph.D and 1+ years work experience.
  • Experience working with complex product portfolios in the medical device industry
  • Experience with strategic product planning and commercial execution
  • Strong influence management skills-effectively influences a wide variety geographies/cultures including Europe, Asia Pacific, Japan, Australia and Canada and functions including regulatory, sales, marketing, research, manufacturing and other cross functional
  • Strong clinical marketing skills - effectively use clinical data to support and drive key marketing claims across a wide variety of geographies
  • Project management skills - ability to pull the appropriate level, functional and geographic functions together to support initiatives
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and ability to adapt style and message to various audiences
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in timely manner
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestic and international
