Slickdeals is hiring people who love to engage consumers with value-based messaging, compelling stories, and creative shopping experiences. We’re launching a new flagship app and need top talent to help us do it!

The Product Marketing Manager is an individual contributor who will collaborate with internal and external partners to develop our primary online product’s value proposition and turn that into compelling messages for customers, prospects, and internal audiences. Slickdeals is looking to develop a world-class, deal-focused online shopping experience with a top-notch product team at the heart of that program. Success in this role entails helping our internal stakeholders uncover valuable audience insights, creating and executing go-to-market plans that drive audience awareness and adoption, and continuously improving and adapting to consumer desires and industry innovation.

Simply put, this role needs someone who can excel at these three things:

  1. Be a strategic, collaborative partner of our product team  - most of this work will be developing product marketing plans to support product adoption for our online consumer-based websites/apps. You’re the marketing expert when it comes to audience insights and communications plans.
  2. Be a project manager - when the go-to-market plan is in place, work with internal and external partners to execute!
  3. Be a data-driven, customer-focused marketer - use data and consumer insights to influence product features and development, create effective, value-focused messaging, then use more data to report on outcomes, optimize, iterate, and improve.

Collaboration with Product Development, Brand, Research & Insights, Advertising, Social Media, SEO, Analytics, and Business Development teams will also be critical to ensure all efforts drive the strongest consumer discovery and engagement. The candidate should have the ability to work in an always-evolving environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Working closely with Product Management teams, develop and execute go-to-market product marketing strategies that drive demand, increase adoption, and create customer loyalty.
  • Brainstorm and develop creative solutions to product marketing needs and objectives (how to measure, how to engage, how to present information, etc).
  • Work with internal creative partners, external agencies, and specialized content partners to develop content in numerous formats (written, video, infographic, interactive, social, etc.).
  • Keep projects on target, on budget, and on time, ensuring quality deliverables that achieve stated business/marketing objectives.
  • Bring new ideas and projects to life on a regular basis – both short and long lead.
  • Use data and insights to continue to evolve user personas.
  • Conduct market research to identify market opportunities and threats.
  • Interview customers and conduct other audience research to uncover unique insights and business value, using that insight to develop internal and external materials and messaging to differentiate Slickdeals in the market.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years in product marketing or related field - preferably working on consumer tech platforms.
  • The ability to champion the customer and experience in shaping customer insights and research.
  • Compelling storyteller and visual communicator. 
  • Excellent writing, editing, oral presentation, and diplomacy skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills. 
  • Strong ability to work closely within a team structure and prioritize and manage time effectively. 
  • Has a passion and intellectual curiosity for all things digital and emerging technologies. Keeps abreast of the latest marketing industry news and vendors.
  • Outstanding team player, collaborator, and consensus-builder, with a knack for earning respect and credibility quickly from teammates and management.
  • A problem-solver, a self-starter, and a design-thinker.
 
LOCATION: Los Angeles or San Francisco

Hybrid schedule visiting our Bay Area/SF office or Los Angeles office 2-3 times a week.
