Meet the Product Marketing team:
Product Marketing at Upside is a mission-critical function, one where you will work at the intersection of Product, Marketing, & Sales to connect Upside’s products to our merchants. As Upside releases new products and features, the growing Product Marketing team is responsible for the commercialization and go-to-market processes, as well as ensuring our Sales and Account Management teams have the training & materials they need to go out and sign new merchants - and keep our growing merchant base happy!
About the job:
We are hiring for a Manager to lead Upside’s day-to-day Product Marketing efforts in our growing Restaurant vertical. You’ll become one of the foremost experts within the company on our market and product, and use that knowledge to drive the acquisition of new merchants and expansion with existing accounts.
What you'll do:
- Strategic project ownership: Whether it’s defining the business case for a new product feature, solving merchant retention challenges, or building a strategy to outflank a competitor, you will be responsible for owning key projects in our most critical business vertical and managing them to successful outcomes
- Product messaging & positioning: Lead the development & implementation of high-impact, differentiated positioning and messaging to captivate and educate our merchants
- Merchant buying journey: Leverage your product and market expertise to map out our prospective merchants’ buying journeys and the decisions/information needed at each stage
- Sales enablement: Build out Upside’s sales toolkit to enable our Sales & Account Management teams to pitch and manage merchants effectively
- Demand generation: Collaborate with Upside’s Merchant Marketing team on thought leadership & other tools to generate leads and fill the sales pipeline
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years prior work experience, including 2+ years in Product Marketing
- Experience in management consulting, investment banking, or similar role with focus on developing analytical and storytelling skill set is a big plus
- Relevant industry experience (such as restaurant, retail, or marketing tech) is a plus
- Gifted storytelling, with ability to succinctly and persuasively communicate complex ideas
- Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a dynamic and fast-paced start-up environment
- Successful track record of juggling multiple workstreams
- Genuine passion for problem-solving and applying an analytical mindset to each new challenge
