Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Product Marketing Manager for the IBM OEM Partnerships including key Database partners Cloudera MongoDB EDB DataStax and SingleStore within Data and AI you will have a global role and oversee the day-to day marketing requirements of the IBM partnership mission to empower customers to scale AI with OEM and watsonx integrations while supporting the Data and AI marketing teams and the geographies with building out the marketing plans and activities to drive revenues.
The successful candidate will engage with the marketing teams in IBM Data and AI including geographies global watsonx product marketing and partnership marketing to design develop and deliver high-impact marketing approaches for the partnership. This will require close collaboration across marketing sales product management for go-to-market plans and execution of these offerings.
Responsibilities:
• Develop marketing strategies to identify and develop product positioning that uniquely differentiates the IBM Data and AI OEM partners and integrations with watsonx to scale our AI for Business and watsonx narrative with OEMs and drive sustainable growth to orchestrate the delivery of relevant client engagement experiences.
• Create messaging and content including point of views strategic messaging and leadership proof points to improve the IBM Data and AI’s market position with OEMs and new AI use cases (i.e. OEM vector db capabilities) todrive competitive advantage and business results.
• Partner with the broader global marketing team; sales including ecosystem and global product management on the creation and delivery of content as well as continuous optimization to drive desired business results.
• Develop an OEM portfolio marketing program plan to optimize performance of each partner and prioritize IBM investments based on partner performance results.
• Partner closely with OEM and watsonx product management to plan the joint marketing activities for the Data and AI OEM offerings integrations and releases and manage the crossfunctional implementation of the plan.
• Represent manage and coordinate the partnership at industry 3rd party IBM and partner-led events conferences trade shows webinars on social media and press coverage.
• Serve as the partnership advocate to explore and explain how our customers have successfully deployed our joint offerings to solve real business challenges including external presentations webinars blogs social media and executive briefings.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 5+ years marketing experience experience in ecosystem marketing and product/solution marketing is preferred.
- Evaluate and prioritize technology partners that integrate with existing offerings to expand footprint
- Demonstrate ability to become an expert in databases market understanding key trends players and competitors in the market
- Ability to understand and profile target buyers– their needs wants beliefs as well as how and when they learn about software and how it can solve their business problems.
- Good communication skills and verbal skills (one-on-one as well as presentation skills) as well as writing skills with the ability to tailor marketing content to different audiences
- Ability to converse with product managers and architects and translate technology into marketing message and story as well as ability to deliver technical content like product demos.
- Ability to work across many stakeholders and businesses
- Interface regularly with clients and partners on marketing activities
- Strong collaboration skills required for an environment that requires continual collaboration across organizations roles and geographies.
- Ability to be agile to work flexibly in an environment of continuous change to set priorities to take initiative and to follow through consistently & thoroughly.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Technology partner management business experience including understanding buyer behavior and business models in hybrid cloud environments including IaaS PaaS and fully managed services.
- Experience with positioning and messaging technology partner solutions including the IBM Data and AI offerings to define clear and compelling ways to articulate the value they offer and differentiates them from competitors.
