The Opportunity
This position works out of our Sylmar, CA location in the Cardiac Rhythm Division.
As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.
The Product Support Engineer is part of Remote care product Engineer (RCPE) Team and will responsible for understanding the integrated set of standards, sub-standards, and assemblies needed to design and manage systems over their life cycles. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a life-cycle balanced system of systems and system/subsystems solution(s) which satisfies customer/operational needs and public/regulatory acceptability. This includes a multitude of systems requirements that range from design, development, test methodologies, validations, risk analysis, documentation, and process improvements.
What You'll Work On
• Participates in system, software, hardware testing planning reviews to support assessment of performance against design specification; reliability testing, and assessment of system interactions.
• Assist in troubleshooting issues to determine root cause and identifying possible solutions.
• On a 24-hour "on call basis" (rotating between other department employees), provides technical support services (once every two months for one week)
• Perform root cause analysis and identification of solutions to complex field issues in adherence to our Quality Systems Regulations
• Apply process and work methodologies by interfacing and communicating system level issues with peers/cross-functional groups.
• Collaborate with various organizations/disciplines (e.g., software, hardware, test, operations, manufacturing) to ensure system design artifacts accounts for all aspects of product lifestyle.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 0-2 years
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related.
- Technical proficiency, creativity, and independent thought.
- Experience with system analysis and cross-functional teamwork and decision making.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
Preferred Qualification: Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles; ability to apply Systems Engineering principles to assigned task or activity.
