As a Software Engineer, DevOps, Production Engineering (PE) you will be part of a team that owns key infrastructure components of Yahoo! Sports, Finance and other Verticals to meet the high quality and performance bars. The team is the power behind engineering goodness for our production systems. By writing, designing and implementing software to drive velocity, operability, reliability and performance, the team ensures continuous quality on production systems as we embed deeply in the many layers and stages of software development.

As a member of the PE team, you will drive such innovations with your developer partners and provide the operability arm by treating software as a first order responsibility.
A Little About You:

• Have a passion for solving difficult technical problems, from the network to the application stack.
• Like to build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications
• Can provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large distributed software applications.
• Work with product engineering teams to improve their applications through rigorous testing and rollout strategies.
• Want to make real web applications and back-end systems faster, more reliable, more efficient.
• Think outside the box to build systems that collect, instrument, analyse metrics from operating systems and applications and provide insights about the system.
• Thrive on fast-paced projects and enjoy participating in system design consulting, capacity planning and platform management.

Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
• 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Production Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering, Software Development.
• Intermediate to Advanced level of coding expertise in at least one of these languages - Python, Go, Node, Java.
• Good understanding of Linux with hands-on experience in troubleshooting production issues.
• Basic knowledge of containers and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on Experience with containers and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Hands-on Experience with public cloud offerings like AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Hands-on Experience with build & deploy technologies such as Maven/Gradle, Screwdriver, Jenkins, NPMs, etc.
• Experience with building CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
• Strong experience in administering, debugging and tuning web apps and containers and related tech.
• Deep understanding of Linux system internals and tools for troubleshooting application stack dumps and networking.
• Experience in driving incident resolution and in addressing technical aspects (during and after) to both tech and non-technical audiences.
• Solid experience with writing, understanding and enhancing algorithms, data structures, scripting, and software design practices.

If hired for this position in Colorado, the compensation range for this position is between $97,500.00 - $162,500.00. The compensation may vary depending on your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include additional incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, plus equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, retirement, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program.
