A Little About our team
The Communications Production Engineering team fills a mission-critical role in ensuring our complex, large scale systems are healthy, monitored, production tasks/processes automated and designed to scale. We work closely across multiple teams from the early stages of design all the way through identifying and resolving production issues. We explore / work on cutting edge technologies to solve challenging problems ensuring uptime and customer satisfaction.
Job profile
We are looking for senior engineers who can quickly understand diverse use cases and lead the design and architecture for large scale distributed systems. The ideal candidate would be an excellent problem solver, possess deep understanding of large-scale systems and their underlying infrastructure, platform systems as well as the challenge that comes along with their operation. You will work on tools and technologies that make our systems robust and resilient. You will also be working on automation and build tools that go along with the various technologies that are in service in production. Candidates for this position should have a solid understanding of UNIX (Linux), as well as fundamental knowledge in underlying protocols and technologies involved in large scale systems on the internet: TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, DNS, Load Balancers, Databases, AWS & HBase/Hadoop etc.
You Must Have

• Expertise in SRE/Production Engineering/System Engineering/DevOps roles.
• Computer Science degree (or in relevant specialization) with 4-8years of industry experience
• Knowledge of UNIX/LINUX (RHEL) operations, performance, and troubleshooting, including the ability to performance tune kernel parameters.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of common Internet protocols like TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol), UDP/IP (User Datagram Protocol/Internet Protocol), HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) and FTP (File Transfer Protocol).
• Experience with database technologies and operational experience to maintain a database system, e.g. Redis, Cassandra, MySQL, MongoDB
• Scripting skills i.e. Bash, Perl, Python, Ruby, nodejs and/or any other scripting languages
• Experience with Openstack, Splunk, Chef, Puppet, Docker and/or other tools in production environments at scale
• Good to have experience with big data technologies i.e. Hadoop, Storm, Hbase, and/or other open source technologies related to this area
• Experience designing for and dealing with a large production environment including; multiple read/write database instances, replication, failover, scalability, partitioning, performance, and upgrades.
• Ability to work independently and own problem statements end-to-end
• Ability to work with minimal guidance as an individual
• Experience working as part of the Agile team.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills

The compensation for this position ranges from $97,500.00 - $210,625.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
