What we need:
Mohawk is looking for a Project Coordinator who can do more for all Mohawk North America brands across residential, distributor and builder multifamily divisions.
This position will be responsible to manager short-range, medium to high-level business unit projects that span the division. Project is moderate in scope; dollar value and risk assessments is routinely managed/controlled at the division level. May manage more complex projects under the direction of a Senior Project Manager or the Director of Project Management, often participates on strategic short or long-range project. Develops project plans, directs and coordinates activities to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters, this includes but is not limited to: managing all aspects of requirements, design, development, implementation and testing of assigned projects. Actively involved in business operations planning at the division and/or business unit level. Reports to the Director or Senior Project Manager, may direct project teams or hold in-direct reporting relationships.
What you'll do:
- Confers with Relationship Mangers, the user community and technologists to translate generalized and customer business goals and requirements into concrete plans to determine how technology might assist in addressing business needs. Oversees the development of proposals/request for proposal; develops detail statements of work (SOW) and initial budgets, identifies critical dates of project schedule and works closely with the project execution manager, project sponsor and steering committees (where applicable) to facilitate decisions necessary for project delivery.
- Maintains effective, productive and professional working relationship with internal and external customers, third party vendors, project management office, relationship managers, and governance organizations in accomplishing project objectives.
- Proactively reviews and interprets performance against operating plans and standards; provides information and reports to management on interpretation of results and approves changes in plans; presents reports on project performance, changes, enhancements, scope variations, and other related matters and/or participates in key management actives and committees advising project sponsors or senior management accordingly.
- Assists with the development of documents and maintains best practices, project standards, procedures, applications, quality objectives and "lessons learned", including metrics for assessing progress; emphasizes the use of established project standards, methodology and quality objectives; proactively seeks opportunities to apply technology to expanding business potential, thereby strongly impacting competitive advantage and profitability.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in leadership, personnel management, and mentoring of other team members from creative and technical disciplines is vital, along with developing and managing client relationships to ensure successful completion of project deliverables and maximum client satisfaction. Superb communication skills, coupled with an intricate knowledge of, and experience with, the software life cycle process.
- Creation of statements of work (SOW) according to approved templates
- Maintains Infrastructure documents and drawings in accordance with agreed standards
- Minimum of one years' experience in all phases of technical project management.
- Ability to communicate with others both verbally and written. Must have the ability to adjust presentation style depending on audience.
- Proficient in Computer and Network Operating Systems

- Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills; ability to effectively exercise tact, discretion, judgement and diplomacy when interacting and/or negotiating with internal and external customers, and senior management, and ability to communicate with others in antagonistic situations using appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to reduce tension or conflict and maintain professionalism in accordance with corporate standards.
- Ability to present and explain technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and gains understanding.
- Ability and willingness to accept responsibility, willingness to challenge established practices and draw relevant conclusions, including the persistence and willingness to take calculated risk, to stimulate, market and sell new ideas within the organization.
- Human resource management skills to effectively lead and direct a diverse work group; to achieve results through team efforts, and the desire and ability to motivate, persuade and direct the activities of others.
- Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment and/or crisis and render good decisions to resolve the problems, maintain safety and ensure adherence to Corporate Code of Conduct
- Consistency proven ability to manage/implement projects and contribute to concept development
