Project Lead

This role is centered on driving agile delivery excellence across complex, mission-driven software projects within a highly collaborative consulting environment. You will act as a key facilitator between technical teams, stakeholders, and clients, ensuring smooth execution of development initiatives from planning through deployment. The position combines Agile leadership, project coordination, and hands-on problem-solving to remove delivery blockers and maintain team momentum. You will support high-impact civic technology initiatives that modernize government digital services and improve public-sector outcomes. Working in cross-functional, fast-paced teams, you will help translate user needs into actionable delivery plans while ensuring quality and alignment with business objectives. You will lead Agile delivery activities, ensuring smooth coordination across software development teams, stakeholders, and client environments while supporting project execution from discovery through deployment. You will also act as a Scrum Master, facilitating collaboration, removing blockers, and enabling high-performing, self-organizing teams. Key responsibilities include:

• Facilitating Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives
• Coordinating project execution activities across development, QA, and stakeholder teams
• Tracking project performance, reporting key metrics, and ensuring delivery transparency
• Identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks and delivery blockers
• Supporting user acceptance testing, training, and production deployment activities
• Coaching teams to improve collaboration, efficiency, and Agile maturity
• Translating user and business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements

Requirements:

You bring strong experience in Agile project delivery and technical program coordination, with the ability to operate effectively in complex software development environments. You are comfortable engaging with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders while maintaining delivery focus and clarity. Key qualifications include:

• 7+ years of experience in project management, Agile delivery, business analysis, or related roles
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum frameworks, and software development lifecycle practices
• Experience serving as a Scrum Master or leading Agile ceremonies in cross-functional teams
• Ability to interpret technical concepts, web architectures, and system dependencies
• Strong communication, facilitation, and team leadership skills
• Experience managing risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines in IT projects
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Scrum (CSM, CSP), PMI-ACP, PMP, SAFe, Lean, or Six Sigma certifications are a plus
