As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating projects that involve cross-functional departments within the organization. Project Planning and Initiation Responsibilities
- Work closely with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Conduct feasibility assessments and risk analyses to identify potential obstacles and mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with third-party resources, including vendors and researchers.
Interdepartmental Coordination Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications between departments.
- Facilitate meetings and discussions to ensure alignment on project goals, priorities, and tasks.
- Resolve conflicts and negotiate solutions among stakeholders with competing interests or priorities.
- Partner enterprise wide to manage accountability of actions and stakeholder management for project completion on time and within budget.
Resource Management Responsibilities
- Identify resource requirements and allocate personnel, budget, and materials accordingly.
- Monitor resource utilization and adjust plans as needed to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Coordinate with department managers to ensure availability and commitment of required resources.
Progress Tracking and Reporting Responsibilities
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure project progress and success.
- Regularly monitor project milestones, budget expenditures, and risks, escalate issues, and report updates to stakeholders.
- Prepare comprehensive progress reports and presentations for senior management and project sponsors.
Risk Management and Issue Resolution Responsibilities
- Proactively identify potential risks and issues that may impact project outcomes.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize disruptions.
- Address issues promptly and effectively, seeking input and collaboration from relevant stakeholders.
Quality Assurance and Documentation Responsibilities
- Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
- Establish and maintain project documentation, including plans, schedules, meeting minutes, and status reports.
- Conduct post-project reviews to evaluate lessons learned and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Adhere to the Quality Management System and its processes to meet applicable regulatory requirements.
- All other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, or a related field or 5-8 years of related work experience.
- PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in an FDA or similar agency regulated environment, highly preferred.
- Proven experience in project management, particularly with interdepartmental projects of varying scopes. 5+ years
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or Asana.
- Proven success working with all levels of management.
