The Opportunity
This position works out of our Dallas, TX location. The Project Manager manages the development and implementation process of company's products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products.
What You'll Work On
- Develops, plans, coordinates, and directs all aspects of projects (within scope utilizing existing resources) within Business unit that can impact or contribute to the strategic direction of the division
- May need to manage multiple, often concurrent projects, of medium complexity and meet strategic expectations.
- Estimate project levels of effort and resource requirements by using standard estimating techniques and tools, and by working with appropriate staff to understand scope of effort.
- Prepare project plans, schedules and budgets by using established project management tools and techniques such as Microsoft Project, and by working with appropriate staff to understand tasks necessary to complete project.
- Leads development of Project Charter and other project documents that satisfy the product development and stakeholder's needs and expectations
- Prepare and present written and oral reports and other presentations to internal and external audiences, including senior management.
- Works under consultative direction with limited interface to senior management within division on significant matters.
- Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain project objectives. Prepares and analyzes alternatives.
- Develops a set of viable alternatives for management; relates risk and gain to critical success factors and recommends action
- Controls budget & maintains financial control to meet strategic project objectives
- Performs tasks, such as writing Requests for Capital Expenditures (RCEs), milestone/quality checklists, scope documents, etc.
- Anticipates and resolves problems and crisis situations requiring fast, astute decisions with rapid implementation by utilizing technical training and / or experience.
- Reviews change requests, manages and approves changes to the deliverables, organizational process assets, project documents, and the project plan.
- Interacts well with diverse groups within engineering and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
- Independently manages own work load by balancing multiple tasks/projects, prioritizing work based on criticality and urgency, and completing tasks on time.
- Consult with internal project groups by sharing project management knowledge and assisting or mentoring more junior project leaders in project management processes and techniques.
- Participate in external project management organizations, conferences and seminars to keep current with industry best practices in project management by joining professional associations and implementing a professional development plan with focus on project management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in a discipline appropriate to the project.
- Minimum 3 years experience in project management.
- Recognized technical skills and judgment appropriate to the project discipline. Basic working knowledge of project management tools and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master degree, or MBA preferred
- PMP Certification
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience with a complete understanding of specified functional area.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience with at least 2 years' experience leading projects involving the application of general business principles
- A technical background in health care, nutritional products, laboratory diagnostics, medical devices, pharmaceutical, or similar industries (preferred).
- Understanding and management of procurement & contracting processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Project

The base pay for this position is
$80,700.00 - $161,300.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
