About this role
Part cruise director, part logistics expert, you are responsible for moving our initiatives forward and you have the magic ability to set a positive, collaborative vibe for the working team. This role offers the opportunity to define the roadmap, standards and processes for the Udemy Finance Systems space which spans the stakeholder groups from Accounting, FP&A, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Legal and Procurement It’s also an opportunity to join a team made up of really positive, authentic folks. What you'll be doing:Â
- Perform the full range of the project management cycle: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing. Establish and maintain trusted advisor relationships with business and IT stakeholders.
- Adopt a standardized development lifecycle methodology (agile / traditional) for all projects.
- Maintain our catalog of active projects and communication assets that describe each initiative and its status; maintain the project roadmap and backlog..
- Exercise solid project leadership skills combined with strong business acumen and in-depth analytic skills.
- Build & develop partnership with the business through your stellar work.
- Communicate effectively with both the internal and external stakeholders and leadership; champion a spirit of collaboration and open communications.
- Fully inform stakeholders on project status, team members should be clear on expectations, their responsibilities and their tasks. Through the appropriate mediums and channels, everyone should know what’s happening when and what to expect.
- Guide the project team to meet the end project objectives.
- Conduct effective & efficient meetings that move our projects forward by identifying topics to cover, building and advising agendas, guiding the discussion, bringing together notes and action items, documenting decisions, and following up as appropriate.
- You are an action item stalker - nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.
- Participate in end-to-end implementation planning including project management, issue management, communication and change management.
- Develop project plans with milestones and timelines; contribute to roadmap development.
- Identify issues, determine a path to resolution & see it through.
What you’ll have:Â
- 5+ years leading enterprise ERP implementation projects. Domain knowledge preferred, with a preference for awareness in Finance systems and business process including: Order to cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procure to pay
- Master in the art of setting up an effective meeting.
- Do you have the right people in the room?
- Do they know why they’re there? Is the expected outcome clear?
- During meetings, do you set the pace and tone and ensure that the focus stays on the expected outcome?
- Outstanding and effective interpersonal skills; along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts concisely, clearly and effectively across multiple levels including executive leadership team, peers, managers and junior staff.
- Presentation skills - you can command a room (or a Zoom) when needed to bring people along with you & ultimately get them to agree to do what you request.
- Fast learner who is comfortable with some ambiguity and changing priorities in a sometimes unstructured environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high energy, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure.
- Ability to build credibility and relationships quickly across functions and levels.
- Team organizer, builder, and motivator with exceptional influencing skills who can exercise judgment related to prioritization and risk management.
- Experienced in agile and traditional project management methodologies.
- Demonstrated project management leadership skills, with direct responsibility for managing project teams (of varying size), budget and schedule.
- Demonstrated history of delivering high quality results on schedule and within budget.
- Experienced in prioritizing business and technical requirements to produce project plans and estimates.
- Not only are your meeting materials crisp, they look awesome too.
- You are skilled at creating compelling visuals to facilitate communication.
- PMI-ACP, PMP, Scrum Master or similar certification a plus
- NetSuite experience is a bonus a plus
