Public Records Analyst
Job Description

Under general direction, the Public Records Coordinator, performs a variety of searches including criminal, local, civil, etc. Analyze and research public records for matching identifiers, dismissals, stet dockets, adjudications and applicable state laws; and write up records.
Assignment Details:
Status: Temporary Assignment (3 - 6 months depending on volume)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm ET
The ideal candidate has a customer-first mindset and aims to deliver high-quality service in every customer interaction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Review records for data; i.e. charges, file date, dispositions, sentencing, etc. and contact courts or other various entities to verify information, send to another vendor to double check, or obtain files from courts.
- Write up records for inclusion in reports, following appropriate federal and state laws.
- Check felony charges to ensure that they are claimed, call courts to verify information, send to another vendor to double check, or obtain court files.
- Complete record review forms, checking for duplication and discrepancies.
- Accurately searches and reviews Indices following CSS and FA guidelines.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, vendors and courts with whom they encounter. This includes delivering superior customer service to all clients.
- Maintain open communication with all levels of management regarding the company, client information and/or general questions or concerns.
- Conducts all duties in accordance with First Advantage policies, the Fair Credit Reporting Act and any other laws that govern their responsibilities.
- Other responsibilities, duties and/or projects as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
No prior experience required. Knowledge of court terminology, criminal justice, or previous relevant experience preferred.
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Certifications:
- Excellent communication/customer service skills.
- Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritizes, self-motivate, and effectively manage work schedule.
- Must understand the rules, policies, laws, regulations, and use of any public and non-public record sources that affect the product.
- Strong analytical and computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Planning, organizational, and time management skills – Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
This role is largely a sedentary in nature and involves sitting for long periods of time. The role requires the ability to hear and talk as well as to see data and adjust visual focus for computer and paper tasks, read, type, lift and/or carry equipment and files up to 20 pounds, walk, bend or stand as necessary.
Working Environment:
100% remote/telecommute. Equipment is provided.
