Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott's Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.

The position of QI Coordinator is within our Infectious Disease Developed Markets business unit located at Westbrook, Maine. In this role you will provide guidance & support to the team in order to produce quality products, seek continuous improvement, and achieve established goals and targets for safety, quality, and productivity.

SCHEDULE: Thursday-Saturday and every other Wednesday 5:00 am- 5:00 pm

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Works closely with the Production manager and Supervisor to ensure all production objectives are met or exceeded
  • Adjust priorities quickly
  • Move low impact QI's into approvals within 12 hours of assignment
  • Move medium-high impact QI's into approval within 24-36 hours of assignment
  • Create and move quarantine records and disposal records independently
  • Write and execute reprocessing/rework records independently or with QA assistance for more in-depth issues
  • Familiarity with knowledge of E-099 process for Material Quarantine, E-009 documentation for rework procedure, and understanding of QI investigation process


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

REQUIRED:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience utilizing GMP practices/techniques
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision.
  • Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and building strategic relationships with coworkers.


PREFERRED
  • Post High School certificate from a college or technical school in manufacturing or related field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of operational excellence/lean principles and applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of medical device manufacturing.
