Position Description

JEA is seeking an experienced manual Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team. Working within JEA’s QA framework, you test and evaluate solution functionality, performance, reliability, stability and compatibility with legacy and/or external systems to keep releases stable and customer ready. You’ll work alongside developers, product owners, and other Quality Assurance Analysts. This is a full-time employee position.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide a full range of quality assurance services to assigned client projects.
  • Create test plans, execute tests across functional, regression, performance, and release cycles, following our SDLC and QA practices.
  • Design test cases and data, map requirements for coverage, and maintain testing documentation and test databases.
  • Analyze results and report defects with clear reproduction steps and probable causes to accelerate triage and fix.
  • Contribute QA metrics and status reports (coverage, defect trends, release readiness) to inform stakeholder decisions.
  • Maintain test documentation.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, training and/or guidance to enhance the skills of other team members.
  • Monitor own workload, provide regular progress reports and strive to increase productivity.
  • Collaborate within agile teams, partnering with developers and stakeholders to improve release quality and speed.
  • Continuously improve test processes and operational efficiency within the QA team.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the positive corporate culture within the company.
  • Perform other related duties, within the context of the role.

Job requirements

  • Education: Diploma or degree in an IT discipline.
  • Certification: ISTQB Certified Tester – Foundation Level (CTFL) or in progress (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of recent manual quality assurance experience.
  • Core skills: Requirement analysis, test design, defect reporting, strong written communication, and comfort collaborating in agile ceremonies.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Oral and written communication skills; presentation skills; technical writing skills; and attention to detail when communicating.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and consistently produce results within timelines.
  • Able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal/external contacts.
  • Able to create test cases based on system specification documents.
  • Able to write SQL queries.
  • Able to use JEA technology, software and development tools, and standard office software.

Nice to Have (Not Required):

  • Exposure to API, UI, and integration testing tools/frameworks; interest in automation as a growth path (we maintain a formal automation practice).
  • Experience compiling and presenting QA dashboards/metrics to stakeholders.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance as a condition of employment
  • Must be willing to work outside normal work schedule to achieve deadlines

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
