The Opportunity
As a dedicated Quantitative Stress Testing Analyst I, you will work with the Liquidity Stress Testing team within USAA's Treasury Office. Candidates will be working to build a best-in-class liquidity stress testing program from the ground up. They will have the opportunity to work with teams across the Enterprise and leverage advanced analytics, modeling, and reporting capabilities that will integrate with the Liquidity Strategies and Contingency Funding Plans to ensure resiliency at the Enterprise across a range of stress scenarios.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position will be based in our Charlotte, NC location.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
- Applies advanced analytics to assess future risk, opportunities, and effectiveness and translates results into meaningful solutions to enhance decision making.
- Applies knowledge to produce analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand complex business objectives and influence solution strategies.
- Produces and communicates analytical content and data visualizations for discussions with cross functional teams, governance committees and business process owners to influence business strategies related to risk opportunities and effectiveness.
- May create statistical reporting and financial analysis to forecast results for required stress test scenarios, including analyzing and challenging stress testing results and partnering with relevant functions to validate those results.
- May engage in model validations, produce model validation reports, measure and aggregate model risks, and/or report on model issues to committees, auditors, and regulators.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative discipline; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 4 years related quantitative analysis experience to include statistical analysis, modeling, engineering, mathematics, business or other quantitative discipline; OR advanced degree/designation in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative discipline and 2 years work experience in a quantitative discipline relevant to risk management; OR PhD in Economics, , Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline.
- 2 years experience working with complex analytical tools and data.
- Experience producing and presenting research data related to business activities.
- Experience effectively participating in cross-functional teams.
What sets you apart:
- Background in economics and/or working with macroeconomic indicators
- 2 -3 years Experience with Python and R
- Experience working with complex quantitative models
- Stress testing experience including scenario design
- Knowledge of insurance and banking industries

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $ 89,990 - $ 172,000
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
