The South Texas Veterans Healthcare Administration is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Physician specializing in Radiation Oncology to join our team at the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center in vibrant San Antonio, Texas. Position Details:
- Position Title: Staff Physician, Radiation Oncologist
- Location: Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas
- Department: Section of Radiation Oncology, Department of Imaging Services
- Full-Time Equivalents Needed: 1
- Provide high-quality direct patient care adhering to national and VA quality measures.
- Supervise and teach medical students and residents, fostering an environment of learning and collaboration.
- No brachy, peds, or gyn.
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, clinical, academic, administrative committees, and quality assurance programs.
- Engage in research opportunities supported by the VA and our academic affiliate, MD Anderson Mays Cancer Center.
- MD/DO degree with Board Certification in Radiation Oncology (American Board of Radiology).
- Experience with Mim and Raystation software.
- Previous experience with the VA is a plus.
- Proposed salary range: $375,000 – $385,000 with the potential for performance pay up to $15,000.
- Incentives offered: Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), relocation assistance, and sign-on bonuses.
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Limited on-call responsibilities, shared among three providers.
- Faculty appointment available with potential for adjoint professorship at UT Health San Antonio's Radiation Oncology program.
You will be joining a close-knit and collaborative team of professionals, including two MDs, 1 resident, 2 nurses, 2 dosimetrists, and 6 radiation therapists. Our practice environment emphasizes good communication, patient safety, and a commitment to excellence.
