This is a high-impact, travel-intensive leadership role requiring strong scientific acumen and proven people leadership in matrixed organizations.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will lead the regional Field Medical organization and ensure execution excellence across all MSL activities, while aligning strategy, insights, and performance tracking across stakeholders:

  • Lead and coach MSL Managers and field medical teams to ensure consistent execution of regional Field Medical strategies and objectives.
  • Drive Field Medical excellence, including launch readiness, deployment planning, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement of field operations.
  • Develop and oversee training programs, onboarding, and capability-building initiatives in collaboration with global and regional medical affairs teams.
  • Translate Field Medical intelligence and insights into actionable strategies that support engagement planning and cross-functional alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, ethical, and internal policies, including reporting requirements for adverse events and technical complaints.
  • Partner with global and regional stakeholders to standardize tools, resources, and processes that enhance field effectiveness and impact.
  • Support talent development and performance management while fostering a culture of scientific rigor, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Requirements

This position requires a strong blend of scientific expertise, field medical leadership experience, and the ability to operate effectively in complex matrix environments:

    • Advanced degree in a scientific or healthcare field (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP preferred).
    • 7+ years of experience in Medical Affairs, Field Medical (MSL), or related clinical/scientific roles within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
    • Strong understanding of clinical research, pharmacotherapy, treatment guidelines, and regulatory frameworks governing medical communications.
    • Proven experience leading teams or influencing cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed, global organization.
    • Demonstrated ability to translate scientific and field insights into strategic action plans and operational improvements.
    • Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills across scientific and executive audiences.
    • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (approximately 60–70%) across a broad geographic region.
    • Valid driver’s license required due to the field-based nature of the role.
    • Benefits

      • Competitive annual salary range: $225,400 – $418,600, plus potential performance-based incentives and equity eligibility.
      • Comprehensive health coverage, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
      • 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution and matching.
      • Generous paid time off package, including vacation, holidays, personal days, and additional leave options.
      • Robust professional development, leadership training, and career advancement opportunities.
      • Remote-based flexibility with field travel integration for regional impact.
      • Additional benefits including life and disability insurance and employee well-being programs.
