This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP, Strategic Account Executive - Virtual based in United States.

This role is focused on strengthening and expanding strategic relationships with large enterprise clients through trusted advisory and executive-level engagement.
You will act as a key partner to senior stakeholders, helping organizations optimize their benefits, wellbeing, and workforce strategies.
The position combines account leadership, strategic sales, relationship management, and consultative problem-solving.
You will manage complex client portfolios while identifying opportunities for growth, retention, and long-term value creation.
Working across internal teams and client organizations, you will influence outcomes through collaboration, insight, and strong executive presence.

Accountabilities:

The Strategic Account Executive will own and grow relationships with strategic enterprise clients by acting as a trusted advisor, driving retention initiatives, and identifying opportunities to expand partnerships. This role requires strong business acumen, executive communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex client environments.

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with CHROs and senior client leaders through strategic conversations and executive-level engagement.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client priorities, operational challenges, and business objectives to provide tailored solutions.
  • Lead account retention and renewal strategies, including preparation, negotiation, and execution of agreements.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing partnerships by connecting client needs with relevant solutions and services.
  • Serve as a key escalation point for client concerns, working collaboratively to resolve delivery challenges, quality issues, and operational matters.
  • Strengthen relationships across client organizations by engaging additional stakeholders and uncovering new opportunities.
  • Partner with internal teams to coordinate resources, address client needs, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Develop customized account strategies rather than relying on standardized approaches, adapting solutions to each client’s environment.
  • Conduct regular client performance reviews, presenting results, addressing concerns, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate strategic planning discussions that help clients define goals and achieve long-term objectives.
  • Manage a complex portfolio of accounts while consistently meeting business growth and performance targets.
  • Travel approximately 25–50% of the time, including occasional short-notice client visits.
  • Requirements:

    The ideal candidate brings extensive experience managing enterprise accounts, strong consultative selling abilities, and the confidence to engage with senior business leaders. They should be skilled at building long-term partnerships and delivering value in complex client environments.

    • 5+ years of experience in strategic account management, client success, enterprise sales, consulting, or related roles.
    • Experience working within HR, employee benefits, healthcare, brokerage, consulting, or related industries preferred.
    • Proven success managing large employer accounts, ideally supporting organizations with 5,000+ employees.
    • Strong executive presence with excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to develop credibility with senior stakeholders and serve as a trusted strategic advisor.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and close expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to create innovative, client-specific strategies.
    • Experience managing complex account portfolios and balancing multiple priorities.
    • Ability to facilitate strategic business discussions and translate insights into actionable plans.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and effective relationship management capabilities.
    • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across internal teams and external stakeholders.
    • Excellent listening, discovery, and communication skills to uncover client needs and deliver impactful solutions.
