Remote Java Developer/ Support

What You Will Do:

• Primary task will be development and enhancement of applications supporting the system. These applications are Java-based and use technologies such as Spring Boot and the Slack API framework.
• Serves as a member of a three-person support team for an operational, high-importance system.
• Responds to ticket requests for support (triage, root cause, repair) within six hours if called.

What You Will Need:

• BA / BS degree. In lieu of degree, additional 4 years of work experience is required.
• 2 - 4 years' experience working with Java in a programming environment.
• Experience using a continuous integration environment, especially with Redmine, Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with a remote team in a collaborative, creative environment
• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident is required for the position.
• Candidate must successfully pass a Federal Background National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Investigation.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Experience with Spring Boot or the Slack API
• Experience with scientific and meteorological data systems, especially in the NOAA/NASA/DoD environment
• Experience working Federal government.

The annual salary range for this position is $60,000.00-$90,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
