What You Will Do:

The Sr Systems Administrator may participate in risk management and preparation of technical reviews. Provide guidance and direction into the support of O&M activities and associated best practices. Participate in systems engineering activities (in a support role) which include one or more of the following: Concept of Operations formulation, requirements definition, system analysis and design, validation and verification, system integration and, system performance analysis.

Must work well with general guidance, generate competent technical input for operations type documentation, be detailed and security oriented. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to deal with multiple contractors and government organizations. Must have worked in large enterprise class type environments, be in line with industry best practices, think outside the box, and be able to make recommendations to improve overall governance and support continuous improvement.

The candidate will:

• Manage, track, report, process and assign support tickets or change requests daily.
• Knowledge of government security policies and general vulnerabilities management.
• Attend change, problem management, AAR and other review boards as required.
• Monitors system health and configurations in order to ensure system health and functionality as well as remediate problems/issues in a timely manner.
• Monitor incident trends and coordinate process improvement proactive resolution processes.
• Develop, implement and enforce process and SOP's for O&M and incident response.
• Install applications (COTS/GOTS) and perform system upgrades & migrations.
• Familiarity and practical application of advanced principles of ITIL/ITSM.

• Ability to present to executive management incident debriefs and root cause analysis reports.
• Must be familiar with source and artifact control, configuration and knowledge management.
• Be a customer advocate by consistently meeting, exceeding expectations and incorporating customer service into all aspects of work.
• Able to perform rotational on-call support in a 24x7x365 operational environment.
• Able to perform rotational on-site (College Park, MD) hands-on/smart hands support.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.

What You Will Need:

• 8-10 full-time years of progressive operations experience into an enterprise setting, including demonstrated O&M experience (advanced troubleshooting, patching, hardening, etc.).
• 8-10-full-time years of progressive Linux expertise leading to RHEL7 & 8 required.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent years of experience In lieu of degree, 4 years of demonstrated experience in a related field
• Expert knowledge of Ansible Platform with the ability to manage, maintain and support customers with playbooks.
• Extensive (5+ years) infrastructure and Linux/Unix based application support experience.
• SE Linux, Satellite, LAMP, LDAP, DNS, NFS, SMB, Apache/Tomcat, Various SQL databases.
• High proficiency (5+ years) of script writing in Perl, Python and various shells.
• 3+ years of progressive VMware experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Must successfully pass a Federal Background Investigation.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,200.00-$175,800.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
