What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is looking for a Senior Scrum Master to lead collaborative, cross-functional agile teams supporting the US Forest Service. You'll advise and lead the team on Agile values, principles, and Scrum framework to ensure that the team is fully functional, productive, and focused on the Program Objectives. You will work directly on a scaled scrum team to coach and facilitate the continuous improvement of the team. You may be required to oversee multiple scrum teams depending on project complexity. Working with the product owner, you will support the work of the team by facilitating agile events and ceremonies, such as, daily stand ups, interaction planning and retrospectives.

Specific Tasks include:

  • Working closely with Multiple Product Management, Development, QA and other stakeholders on planning and delivering high quality software using agile/scrum framework
  • Facilitating scrum ceremonies for one or more scrum teams including the daily standup, sprint planning, grooming, demos, and retrospectives
  • Understanding the product and technology well enough to support the project, identify and communicate risks, and facilitate issue resolution
  • Ensuring the team has clear understanding of the quality of software they are developing and is constantly working to improve that quality.
  • Providing and tracking agile metrics as it relates to scrum team predictability and productivity with an eye towards continuous improvement
  • Serving as Scaled Agile Framework champion and coach teams and stakeholders on SAFe principles and the agile mindset and drive home the value of agile/scrum across the organization
  • Leveraging critical thinking skills and coaching to them through scrum teams to ensure consistency.
  • Driving continuous improvement and efficiency through consistent communication between team and program level along with critical stakeholders
  • Driving a collaborative and supportive team culture through team building and engagement practices
  • Acting as backup for other Scrum Masters and Management team as required.

What You Will Need:

  • 5+ years Agile program management experience in software development using Scrum and/or Kanban
  • 2+ years as Scrum Master
  • 2+ years' experience with Kanban
  • 3+ years managing multiple projects and coordinating with other teams
  • Exceptional ability to foster and maintain a positive and creative work environment for teams including dealing with conflict within the team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Candidate must successfully pass a Federal Background Investigation
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident holders

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Experience with Cloud platform
  • Experience with Government systems
  • PMI-ACP Certified
  • Scaled Agile Framework - SAFe Certified
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related area
  • MBA

The annual salary range for this position is $87,500.00-$131,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
