Position Description
Origis Energy is looking for a Renewable Facility Design Engineer to join our diverse and growing team. The ideal candidate, reporting to our Senior Director of Project Engineering, will be the subject matter expert in PV Solar and ESS facility design. S./he will be dedicated to leading, evaluating, optimizing, and integrating subsystems for solar PV facility (SCADA, DC electrical, AC collection, Metering, circuit protection, etc). This individual is a critical resource to support integration of PV + ESS and diligence of M&A opportunities.
The position of Renewable Facility Design Engineer is a regular, full-time position, and is eligible for our generous employee benefits package, including employer paid health insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions, and other great benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for solar project engineering, design (using AutoCAD or equivalent) for solar PV+ESS facility including SCADA, DC electrical, AC collection, Metering, Circuit protection, etc.
- Perform technical evaluation of equipment and lead selection of components and subsystems for the PV and ESS facilities
- Interface and collaborate with the external design firms, EPCs, and consultants during the project design phase.
- Support integration of solar plus storage sites during the execution phase
- Provide technical support during the diligence of M&A opportunities
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Masters preferred
- 5+ years Project Design & Engineering experience / 10+ years for Director level
- Utility scale solar and BESS project experience required
- Development experience highly preferred

Location Miami, FL; Austin, TX; or San Diego, CA; remote considered for the right individual
Travel Up to 20% travel required as necessary
