As our Resource Manager, you will...
Be Accountable and Responsible
As our Resource Manager, you will be the hub of all consulting services staffing and utilization needs. You will ensure staffing requests are fulfilled in an efficient and cost-effective manner, provide accurate and insightful reporting and analysis to leadership and project teams, identify gaps, issues and make strategic and thoughtful staffing suggestions. You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, and an understanding of digital project requirements.
- Collaborates with directors and project managers to effectively assign resources to projects in a timely fashion, including conducting a weekly resource staffing meeting to ensure all projects have been staffed
- Reviews capacity across organization on an ongoing basis, proactively identifying and communicating with directors on consultants that are above / below utilization targets; partners with directors on re-balancing work for identified consultants
- Proactively works with project managers, sales leads and service area leads to optimize the pipeline for enterprise clients and ad-hoc projects
- Assist in developing knowledge of and relationships with resources, talent and technology
- Analyze the teams resource usage trends and anticipate upcoming requirements to ensure the most efficient use of skills across consultants digital resources
- Manage and solve for day-to-day resource requests, escalating issues to the consulting services team leads
- Lead weekly resourcing meetings and participate in weekly sales pipeline reviews
- Maintain tracking of skill sets and category experience from all on-staff employees
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders and gain an understanding of their resourcing needs
- Work with contractors to manage monthly budget to maximize profitability
- Comply with internal policies for all contractor resources
- Actively maintain contractor database/pool, updating with internal feedback once a contractor assignment is complete
- Proactively identify talent gaps and source contractor resources to fill those gaps, as needed
- Make suggestions for resourcing and utilization tracking process improvements and tool upgrades
- Serve as back-up Project Manager on small accounts, as necessary
These are the qualifications we’re looking for
- At least 6 years of resource work experience, within an agency and/or consulting firm, with at least 3-4 years specifically working on large marketing automation projects
- Current PMI certification or previous is a plus
- Knowledge of enterprise systems, CRM and/or project management tools
- Experience engaging with contractor talent
- Strong knowledge of technology and development including, platform, enterprise solutions and digital marketing
- Ability to to develop an understanding of the different skill sets of the team members and use this knowledge to effectively recommend appropriate staffing needs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, with strong people skills and the ability to effectively interact with diverse personalities
- Excellent analysis skills and the ability to develop processes and methodologies
- Be a collaborative, generous team player who readily shares ideas, but can happily build on others ideas
- Proven ability to work autonomously and in team settings
- Be able to manage time appropriately and meet client deadlines & deliverables
- Willing to quickly and easily adapt to changes and priorities
- Strong time management skills; Ability to multitask and prioritize
