Retail or Consumer Industry - SAP Testing Lead

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP Testing Lead to drive end-to-end quality assurance for large-scale SAP transformation programs (S/4HANA, ECC to S/4H migration, Fiori implementations). You will lead a team of functional testers, define test strategies, and ensure smooth go-lives across modules.
Key Responsibilities
1. Test Strategy & Planning
•    Define and implement overall SAP testing strategy, approach, and governance for projects (Greenfield preferred).
•    Collaborate with functional, technical, and business process owners to identify test scope, cycles, and exit criteria.
•    Estimate testing efforts, resources, schedules, and environments.
2. Test Execution Management
•    Lead end-to-end testing cycles: Unit, Integration (FUT/SIT), Regression, User Acceptance (UAT), and Performance testing.
•    Oversee defect management lifecycle (logging, triage, root cause analysis, retesting) using tools like JIRA
•    Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Basis, ABAP, Security, Data Migration) for test environment readiness and refresh.
3. Team Leadership
•    Manage, mentor, and upskill a team of SAP test analysts and automation engineers.
•    Assign work packages, conduct reviews, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
•    Act as primary QA point of contact for project stakeholders, SI partners, and business users.
4. Reporting & Metrics
•    Publish daily/weekly test dashboards – execution status, defect aging, pass/fail rates, and risks.
•    Track KPIs like test coverage, defect leakage, and mean time to resolve.
•    Provide go/no-go recommendations for deployment.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have:
•    8+ years in SAP, with 1~2 large scale project experience as a Test Lead.
•    Deep expertise in at least two core SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, SD, MM) and good understanding of integration touchpoints.
•    Proven experience in S/4HANA testing (on-prem or cloud).
•    Hands-on with test management tools (Panaya, ALM, JIRA Xray, Zephyr, or SAP Solution Manager 7.2+).
•    Experience in defect triage meetings and managing UAT with business users.
•    Experience in Consumer or Retail industry.
Good-to-Have:
•    SAP testing in BTP (Business Technology Platform) or Fiori apps.
•    Strong knowledge of test data creation, data masking, and test environment strategy.
•    Exposure to SAP CBTA (Cloud-based Test Automation).
Soft Skills
•    Strong stakeholder management and ability to challenge project plans from a quality perspective.
•    Analytical mindset to identify process improvements and test optimization.
•    Excellent verbal/written communication; able to explain technical defects to non-technical business users.
•    Proactive risk identification and mitigation planning.
