About the Team:

The Sensors Division at STR focuses on technology development for advanced sensor systems, particularly in the areas of airborne/surface-based radar, electronic warfare, underwater acoustics, hyperspectral imaging, and EO/IR sensing. We perform work on full system prototypes, data collection campaigns and technology component development. Particular development roles within the Sensors Division include RF analog/digital hardware, acoustic hardware, signal processing algorithms, machine learning algorithms, tracking/fusion, as well as real-time embedded processor implementation.

The Electronic Warfare and Novel Capabilities Group (EWNC) in the STR Sensors Division develops advanced signal processing algorithms and prototypes systems for next generation radar and electronic warfare systems. Design, build, and test roles within the Group include RF analog/digital hardware, advanced electronic warfare algorithms and techniques, signal processing, cognitive electronic warfare applications, optimization, and real-time embedded processor implementation.

About the Role:

The EWNC Group is seeking a RF Sensors Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of multi-function RF sensor systems including radar and electronic warfare (EW) systems. A successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills and substantial expertise in several of the following areas: systems engineering, design of RF systems, radar systems, EW systems, test & evaluation, model & simulation. This position requires skills working as part of and leading multi-disciplinary teams designing, analyzing, and demonstrating signal processing algorithms for complex systems.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop system concepts, algorithms, and RF solutions to remote sensing challenges
• Technical leadership and oversite of algorithm implementation and testing
• Modeling and Simulation of advanced RF systems, new sensing paradigms, and multi-function RF concepts

• Clearly communicate with customers, stakeholders, sponsors, prime- and sub-contractors

Required Qualifications:

• Strong background in RF systems (communications, electronic warfare, and/or radar)
• US Citizenship with active Security Clearance, and eligible to support special access programs.

• Demonstrated leadership experience in advanced research and development projects.
• PhD, MS, or BS in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related technical discipline
• Experience: 5+ years for PhD, 8+ years for MS, 10+ years for BS
• Strong interpersonal, communication, technical, leadership, and mentorship, skills.
• Ability to create and present deep technical briefings as well as high-level briefings to Customers and senior management.

• Strong Mathematical, troubleshooting, writing, and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Ability to survey literature to determine state-of-the-art, incorporate recent research and apply to current problem sets.
• Understanding and experience in interacting with decision-makers and customers to translate mission needs into an end-to-end analytical solution.
