Job Description Summary:
PayPal's GCSC Risk Organization is responsible for managing risk throughout the customer lifecycle. This is an exciting organization where contributions have a direct P&L impact. This role is part of the GCSC – Seller risk BI team.The Data Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, predictive analytics, and modelling, as well as performing research and analytics to provide data driven and actionable insights on the seller risk portfolio. As a member of the GCSC-Seller Risk-Business Intelligence Team, you will be responsible to act as a subject matter expert for Seller Risk segments (Micro, Business and Commercial) and to interact with different levels of partners and leadership to provide data driven solutions and visual infights for our business and customers that support the Seller risk strategy and goals. You will provide E2E quantitative and qualitative reviews on: fraud trends, large losses, executive escalations, root cause analysis, process improvements, test and learns, and risk indicator effectiveness to prevent loss and enable merchant business and improve customer using experience. This position is expected to demonstrate a good learning aptitude, strong problem-solving skills and innovation backed analytical ability.
Job Description:
Responsibilities include:
- Ability to provide qualitative and quantitative assessments on seller risk loss & experience areas including trends, tagging, model evaluation, process mapping/automation, etc.
- Use analytics and statistics to improve our ability to detect, understand and address emerging trends across the seller risk portfolio and identify levers that maximize the risk reward relationship.
- Deep dive analyses on large datasets using SQL/R/Python or other tools and structuring of analyses using MS Excel. Develop analytical insights and models using innovative statistical and modelling techniques.
- Conduct complex proactive E2E reviews based on risk indicators, complete root cause analyses, prevent loss and enable business
- Maintain and enhance management reporting dashboards using reporting tools such as Tableau, QlikView and PowerBI etc.
- Cultivate insights across the portfolio using both internal and external data, support implementation of changes.
- Partner with key stakeholders for educating, coaching and enhancing risk detections, reporting and analytics
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant and quantitative field  like Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in a risk analytics/data science role. Practical experience in the banking/finance services industry would be particularly desirable.
- Hands on experience using SQL, R Studio, Python is an advantage.
- Familiarity with reporting tools (QlikView and Tableau) is an advantage.
