Risk and compliance functions' success have never been more dependent on data and analytics to drive value and meet their missions. For DSR's Risk + Resilience team to meet their mission to enable Microsoft to anticipate, manage, and respond to risks to build the most resilient, secure, and trusted devices and services, it's critical to empower our stakeholders with data to identify opportunities to decrease risk, improve resilience and enhance decision making across Microsoft's global footprint. This role on the Risk Analytics team is critical to ensuring the Risk + Resilience team have the right insights to drive their Engineering & Corporate Function stakeholders across the company to reduce digital security and resilience risk. We are hiring a Risk Analytics Lead - Technical Program Manager and in this position, you'll own and architect the end-to-end data solution for risk analytics. Day to day you will work on modeling and analyzing risk data to help our business stakeholders understand the risks posed to their business areas so that they are addressed. Additionally, you will work with our current Analytics team to manage our Azure Resources and work with other engineering teams to source and ingest data, model, and prepare data for analysis and usage. You'll work with Risk + Resilience teams to deliver insights on risks to help drive security and resilience stakeholders across the enterprise. Finally, you'll guide the risk analytics team members and coach them for success while being accountable for the Risk Analytics strategy and roadmap.

You will have an eye for leveraging data as a strategic asset and can map analyses to areas of risk for action. You will have a record of accomplishment in developing data analyses that address risks or performance, collaborating and influencing across teams to develop key performance indicators, coordinating multiple timelines, and managing complex, cross discipline projects. You are agile and able to adapt to support an ever-changing company, evolving technology stack, and shifting risk environment. Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 4+ years of Azure data analytics solution architecture utilizing metadata-driven cloud-based solutions with KQL/SQL, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), and Spark/ Python.
  • 4+ years' experience with dimensional modeling and star schemas
Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • 7+ years' experience analyzing problems and making appropriate decisions quickly.
  • 8+ years' experience managing large scale, complex data initiatives and influencing stakeholders to achieve desired results.
  • 8+ years' experience collaborating effectively with PMs, non-technical team members, and other technical leaders as well as across teams to define and implement sustainable solutions.
  • 7+ years' experience demonstrating written & verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • 7+ years' experience leading cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 5+ years security experience working in a large multinational organization.
  • 2+ years risk and compliance experience working in a large multinational organization.
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.

Responsibilities:• Architect and design the end-to-end data platform for risk and resilience using a metadata driven framework • Architect and model incoming data into a dimensional model that the business can use to power decision making • Collaborate with stakeholders, data engineers, and business analysts to understand and translate business requirements into effective data solutions using Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, ensuring data integration, transformation, and loading processes align with best practices and performance standards • Architect data storage solutions in Azure Synapse/Microsoft Fabric • Lead the evaluation, selection, and adoption of appropriate Azure Services and tools to support data solutions, considering factors such as data security, compliance, and cost efficiency • Develop and maintain data architecture documentation, including data flow diagrams, technical specifications, and data lineage • Build and own the DevOps process to ensure proper deployment, monitoring, and optimization of data pipelines and solutions • Provide technical and business leadership and mentorship to team members, sharing best practices & architectural guidance, ensuring design and output quality, providing coaching, promoting continuous learning, and owning the Risk Analytics strategy and roadmap • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in Azure services, data architecture, and cloud technology, and apply this knowledge to enhance the organization's data capabilities
