Risk Management Specialist

BASIC PURPOSE: This position is responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and settling diesel truck mechanical claims.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Communicate consistently with all relevant parties to gather detailed facts regarding mechanical claims.
• Determine and evaluate damages of each claim and the extent of liability.
• Negotiate settlements with claimant if appropriate.
• Develop a plan of action to monitor and accurately document claim details.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience or education to handle truck care claims through diesel technician, service writer, or applicable vocational school courses.
• Experience:
  • 1 year experience around heavy trucks with customer service preferred.

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Skills:
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office, accurate and efficient typing skills, and the ability to conduct research using a variety of sources
  • Extensive knowledge of truck tire care, preventative maintenance procedures for heavy diesel trucks.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, detail oriented, ability to provide accurate documentation, flexibility and ability to prioritize projects, and conflict resolution skills
• Typical Physical Demands:
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
  • Requires the ability to communicate via telephone for an extensive amount of time daily.
