Rust Backend Software Engineer, Platform Team (Moonshot)

The Role: Software Engineer - Platform Team 

We are expanding our Platform team, which develops our live, low-latency systems that drive our computer vision and augmentation engines, deliver our insights to clients, and serve as building blocks with which other engineering groups build products. As a member of the Platform group, you are responsible for the software that powers the live delivery of our products for thousands of sporting events every year.

• Server-side: Postgres, Redis, GraphQL, REST, Auth0, Pulsar, RabbitMQ
• Infrastructure: AWS (EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, RDS), Docker, Linux, Terraform, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana
• Git: GitLab

What You'll Do

• Contribute to a variety of codebases and perform code reviews
• Build abstractions, improve existing code for performance and maintainability
• Collaborate across Product, Business Development, and Operations
• Develop ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends
• Share your observations, learnings, and questions with your colleagues

What You Have

• Strong software engineering fundamentals
• 2+ years in a software development role
• Experience with any two of: Rust, TypeScript/Node.js, SQL 
• Experience with revision control using Git and GitHub and/or GitLab
• Experience with Docker or other container technology for service management 
• Solid critical thinking and root cause analysis skills
• Ability to work successfully both in a team and independently
• Bachelor's in a STEM field or 2 additional years software experience

• Experience working on video products
• Experience in Kubernetes
• Interest or domain knowledge in sports and sports consumers

The base salary range for this role is $125,000 – $180,000. There are a number of factors which affect what the specific pay offer would be for this role, including location, seniority, and relevant educational and working experience. This is base salary only – all full-time roles will also be eligible to take part in Genius benefits and equity plans, and some roles may be eligible to take part in a variable compensation plan.
