Join VillageMD as a Certified Pharmacy Technician / Refill Specialist in our Patient Service Center (Remote)!

AVAILABLE SHIFT SCHEDULES:

All shifts are Monday - Friday (Central Time):

  • Opening Shift: 8-hour shift with a start time between 6am and 7:30am (6:00,6:15,6:30,6:45,7:00,7:15,7:30), shift end by 4pm
  • Mid Shift: 8-hour shift with a start time between 7:45am and 9:00am (7:45,8:00,8:15,8:30,8:45,9:00), shift end by 5:30pm
  • Evening Shift: 8-hour shift with a start time between 9:15am and 10:45am (9:15,9:30,9:45,10:00,10:15,10:30,10:45), shift end by 7:15pm

Pharmacy Refill Specialists work in collaboration with medical providers and their care team to provide the highest quality of care delivery, by ensuring all medication requests are answered and processed promptly and accordingly based on the practice’s guidelines.

How You Will Get Things Done:

  • Answer incoming phone calls in a call center environment regarding prescription refills and utilizing call auxiliary statuses to indicate availability to answer calls
  • Process prescription refill requests in real time from incoming calls, and electronic prescription refill faxes from pharmacies within Athena EMR
  • Rotation schedule for on and off phone work; Specialists will rotate working pharmacy electronic fax requests (off phone work), and incoming calls for Rx refill requests (on phone work)

How You Will Build Trust:

  • Work in collaboration with providers and their care team to provide the highest quality of care delivery by ensuring all medication requests are answered and processed promptly and accordingly based on the practice’s guidelines
  • Provide support to the clinician staff by reviewing all refill requests that come into the clinic refill inboxes and ensure that the medication protocols have been met in accordance with set protocols (it is expected that all clinical Rx refill boxes will be as close to empty as possible by the end of business each day)
  • Send courtesy refills when appropriate and send Return to Office requests when appointments are advised and/or labs are needed

How You Will Innovate:

  • Attend staff meetings and providing input into evaluation of processes and suggestions for improvement
  • Coordinate patient care information related to medication refills with other health care providers and teams

Experience to drive change

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (some nights and weekends) (required)
  • Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician course (required)
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician Certificate/License (required)
  • 1+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience (preferred)
  • Some experience working in a Call Center (customer service experience will be considered), and/or handling high volumes of incoming calls (preferred)

For Colorado Residents only: The base compensation range for this role is $18.00 to $22.00. At VillageMD, compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. This role may be eligible for annual/quarterly bonus incentives (if applicable), and the selected candidate will be eligible for a valuable company benefits plan, including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and access to a 401k plan with company match.
