Join us as a SaaS Release Manager. This is a US remote position.
The Release Manager leads and owns the SaaS Release Management lifecycle which includes planning, scheduling, communicating, and managing releases across our SaaS platform. You will work with our Product and Engineering teams to deliver high quality software through consistent releases. The Release Manager places a focus on identifying and driving continuous process improvements to optimize software releases and associated organizational processes
What you will do
- Work closely with product management, program management, technical operations and engineering teams to ensure a great customer release experience
- Define and govern release readiness gates, milestone reviews, and Go/No-Go decisions
- Effectively manage risks and resolve issues that impact release scope, schedule and quality
- Build process around status reporting, operational documentation and release change management
- Educate teams on the release management process to ensure they understand and follow established protocols (quality testing, performance testing, security impact assessments, backwards compatibility, etc.)
- Drive continuous improvement in our Release Management framework (documentation, tooling and processes) by identifying and implementing the appropriate processes and procedures
- Provide release management metrics and reports to stakeholders
- Facilitate retrospectives and integrate lessons learned into release processes
- Be available for on-call notifications of customer-impacting issues leading up to release deployments
What you’ll need to succeed in this role
- Advocacy for the customer release experience and familiarity with continuous delivery and agile release management
- A self-starter who can independently set priorities through effective triage, critical analysis, and devising mitigation strategies
- Skilled at building trust and acting as an objective adviser to enable cross-functional collaboration with all levels of the organization
- Effectively build rapport with team members while also instilling discipline for following established processes
- Strong communication skills to influence, persuade, build consensus and lead positive engagement across the different teams
- Ability to thrive in a technical, fast-paced environment
- Perform effective project management - highly organized and energized by getting work done
- Passion for problem solving with a hands on focus and taking a solution-oriented approach
- Familiarity with compliance and security standards, policies, and risk management
Additional experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent course work in computer science or related field
- 3-5 years of SaaS release management or technical project management focused on release management
- Thorough understanding of the SDLC and the ability to apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using agile methodologies
- Strong organizational, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Slack, and release management tools
- Outstanding organizational, communication, and relationship building skills conducive to driving consensus
- Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills
