Job Overview
Yellowbrick Sales Engineers are responsible for guiding our customers and users to craft and build reliable, scalable systems using our data platform. Our team is made up of hardworking software architects, entrepreneurs, and developers who take direct responsibility for customer success, including the design of their software, deployment, and operations. You'll work closely with our sales reps and play a key role in winning deals and driving the business forward. You'll be a trusted advisor to a wide range of users from financial institutions to the world's largest enterprise IT organizations.
Responsibilities
- Build trusted relationships with Yellowbrick internal resources, external partners, and client account teams to qualify deals, identify business value, and provide technical guidance in order to set proper expectations to ensure customer satisfaction
- Leverage knowledge of a domain or industry to align Yellowbrick’s value to the customers’ business and technical problems
- Immerse yourself in the ever-evolving technology and landscape while maintaining a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors and how to position Yellowbrick in relation to them.
- Conduct discovery meetings to collect, analyze, clarify, and document business requirements during the sales cycle to support the implementation team and produce a detailed solution proposal.
- Work hands-on with prospects and customers to deliver standard, customized and/or strategic solution demonstrations, white boarding, presentations, and best practices that showcase functional capabilities, competitive advantages, and business benefits of the Yellowbrick solutions throughout the sales cycle, from demo to proof of concept to design and implementation.
- Guides customers in digital transformation and cloud adoption, understanding where Yellowbrick integrates with holistic architecture and strategy.
- Provide ongoing, post-sales, technical guidance to the customer’s technical team to drive customer utilization of Yellowbrick and digital transformation success
- Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve Yellowbrick’s products and marketing.
- Work with customer on proof-of-concept tests that involve full-stack data warehouse migrations.
- Contribute to knowledge base content, including but not limited to articles, guides, documentation, and training material.
- Provide feedback to product management and engineering on product features, defects, and improvements.
- Help drive demand through the participation in both industry-known trade-shows as well as account-based marketing events.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a sales engineering or consulting role for a SaaS company, with a deep understanding of the data analytics ecosystem
- Outstanding presenting skills to both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu on a whiteboard or using presentations and demos
- Exceptional problem solving, organizational, decision making and presentation skills
- Ability to work in an independent, collaborative and fast paced environment
- AWS, Azure, and GCP certifications a plus
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes/Docker or containerized applications
- Previous experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform or Cloud formation
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Understanding of MPP database systems
- Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, math or equivalent experience preferred
- This role will need to travel 25%-50% of the time.
