POSITION OVERVIEW
Alarm.com, a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial technology company, is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our talented international team working from Sydney, Australia.
This position will be responsible for new sales growth, day-to-day client account management, and training for customers in the APAC region.
A successful Sales Engineer will become an expert in the Alarm.com offering, identify and onboard new partner accounts and support their launch activities to ensure that they become successful Alarm.com partners.
This role will ensure that our partners grow over time by understanding and utilizing the full suite of Alarm.com smart-home security and all the tools and resources available to them. The ideal candidate will be well versed in technology, demonstrate strong communication and people skills, and be prepared to travel to client locations across the APAC region.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Sales Engineer’s primary job responsibilities will include:
- In cooperation with the Sales Leadership, develop a prospecting and new commercial dealer acquisition strategy. Identify and target prospect dealers across different channels with a large subscriber base, interested in smart home/business interactive solutions.
- Via consultative sales, grow the number of dealers who will adopt and sell Alarm.com products and services to an end-user.
- Providing valuable ongoing product support and training to partners via webinar and on-site.
- Representing Alarm.com at various trade shows and events.
- Demonstrating in-depth and current understanding of all existing and new Alarm.com product release features to properly respond to partner inquiries.
- Lifecycle Account management; identifying potential new partners in the region, engaging and launching new accounts, and providing ongoing local support for mutual business growth.
- Lead and execute the onboarding process for new partners. This includes commercial and technical training as well as initial setup.
REQUIREMENTS
- BA or BS, Engineering, Math, Sciences or Business preferred
- The ability to communicate in English with vendors and internal teams, both in writing and verbally, in a clear, professional manner
- A self-starter who can operate independently.
- Proficiency and up-to-date knowledge of consumer, cloud, and IoT technology
- Strong people skills; natural customer service orientation and disposition – candidate must enjoy working with clients and supporting internal customers in the organization
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- The ability and commitment to meet deadlines, even during high volume periods
- Flexible and positive attitude that fosters team spirit
- Availability to travel up to 50% within APAC region
- Experience with at least one of the following is required: Electronic security, access control, home automation, or video over IP
- 3-5 years of experience in outside sales (consultative and Business 2 Business sales)
- Drives results: proven history of increasing revenue, closing new accounts, and successfully growing accounts. Ability to sell concepts and value-added services a plus
