Profile: Our client manufactures industrial products that extend the life of equipment used in the mining and cement industries. We are looking for a Montreal-based, bilingual Sales Engineer to lead a group of customers in Quebec and Ontario. Your role will be to manage the customer base, understand the applications of the customers and make suggestions based on your technical knowledge and that of our products. This role provides the opportunity for a more senior management role within 4 years.

Territory: Quebec and Ontario
Workplace: Office on the west island of Montreal/road and home office
Products/Services: Industrial products used in mining and cement industries
Salary: Base $150,000 to $200,000
Commissions/Bonus: $50,000 at 100% of objectives
Car allowance: Vehicle and gas card provided

Functions:
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for Quebec and Ontario
  • Identify new opportunities within industries such as mining, cement and other industries
  • Conduct on-site visits to assess operational challenges and recommend engineered solutions
  • Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, proposals, negotiation, and closing
  • Understand customer equipment and processes to identify wear and corrosion issues
  • Work closely with engineering teams to design tailored solutions
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical requirements
  • Deliver technical presentations and product training when needed


Requirements:
  • Experience selling to either the mining or cement industry is a must
  • Experience selling a value-added product

Development vs Maintenance: 25% vs 75%
Road vs Office:60% vs 40%
Languages: Written and spoken English and French needed
Education: Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials Engineering, or a related field (preferred) OR business degree with industry experience
Training: Full and detailed training provided here in the US and Europe
Overnight Travel: Up to 40% overnight travel required
Years of experience: 3 to 7 years of relevant experience
Other requirements: Consultative sales style not selling a commodity
Transferable contacts: has sold to either the mining or cement industry
