Who Are We Looking For?
We’re looking for a high-energy, creative, detail-oriented, Sales Engineer to join the Sales organization at Lookout. You will be responsible for the technical aspects of managing and growing our SLED business with organizations located in the Central US region. Successful candidates will be results-oriented, self-directed, and have a strategic orientation balanced with a strong ability to contribute directly to the businesses we build with our customers.
You will be based in the Central region and have experience supporting technical sales of software in the region. You have solid contacts within the technical community and are an experienced engineer with a successful track record of solving difficult technical issues, architecting a solution to meet customer needs, and providing valuable feedback to senior management based on customer input. You know how to ensure that your customer's needs and wants are conveyed across the organization, while primarily safeguarding the interests of your own company.
What Will You Do?
- Establish yourself as the technical expert and trusted advisor who creates deep, ongoing relationships at multiple levels within our customers.
- Represent and drive the customer technical interests internally, while promoting Lookout’s interests within the customer.
- As the technical sales expert, you, along with your Sales Account Manager, will build a strategic territory plan, identify & qualify new opportunities, and execute proof of value/proof of concepts, as needed, to ensure a technical win.
- Position the capabilities of Lookout Security products within the customer to help drive and define RFP requirements.
- Communicate customer requirements and competitive data, including feature needs, and value proposition to the product and marketing teams and senior management.
- With your growth mindset, you will collaborate with other Lookout SE’s to knowledge share, learn from one another, and contribute to the ongoing refining of our best practices.
- You'll represent Lookout and build our brand by traveling to and presenting at seminars and conferences.
What’s Needed?
- 10+ years of direct engineering experience with customers in either a Sales Engineering or systems integrator role, preferably in SLED.
- Experience in cloud and/or network security technologies, including, but not limited to CASB, ZTNA, Secure Web Gateway, DNS, SSL/TLS, DLP, Firewall as a Service, SD-WAN, or other SASE solutions.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills and the ability to boil down complex topics into clear and easily understandable messages.
- The ability to promote Lookout as a thought leader in the endpoint to cloud security space.
- The ability to sit on technical panels and deliver strong technical presentations to prospective customers.
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective solutions, optimize efforts and communicate results.
- Strong interpersonal & problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and drive others.
