Role Overview

We’re on the hunt for an experienced Sales Manager with a proven track record in B2B sales and management to spearhead our sales efforts. This role is ideal for a driven individual with a deep understanding of sales strategies, team leadership, and the ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment. The Sales Manager will be instrumental in shaping our sales department, optimizing our sales processes, and leading our team to achieve and exceed our sales targets.

We offer a competitive salary with On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this role. The OTE ranges from $200,000 to $220,000 annually, which includes both base salary and variable compensation based on performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example through direct selling to key clients within the first 90-120 days, gaining insights into our market, products, and sales cycle.
  • Work closely with leadership to refine sales materials, presentations, systems, and processes to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan that expands our customer base and solidifies our presence in the market.
  • Hire, manage and mentor the sales team, setting performance targets, and providing ongoing training and support to ensure team success.
  • Utilize HubSpot to streamline sales processes, track sales metrics, and manage customer relationships effectively.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the sales team.
  • Regularly report on team performance, sales forecasts, and market trends to company leadership.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of direct B2B sales experience, with a strong preference for backgrounds in educational technology or related industries.
  • At least 5 years of sales management experience, demonstrating the ability to lead and motivate a high-performing sales team.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies.
  • Experience with HubSpot or similar CRM systems is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Based in Chicago preferred, but the position is open to full-time remote candidates.
  • Ability to travel as required to meet with clients, attend industry events, and join in-person team gatherings.
