General Summary
The Sales Manager is responsible for supporting and executing upon the leadership and strategic direction provided by the Sales leadership team for the assigned territory. The Sales Manager will develop business plans that support the published annual Corporate direction. It is expected that supporting strategies will be developed in collaboration with the MENA Sales Rep organizations ensuring proper sales coverage and sales effectiveness across all territories within the assigned Region. The role serves as a consolidation point for market trends, competitive landscape, and changes in the business climate for the specified Region.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for all local Murata customers within the territory (not assigned to a Murata Global Accounts Manager / Key Accounts Manager).
- Communicates with Murata affiliates proactively and effectively in support of fulfilling business developed in assigned territory but harvested globally / internationally via various available channels. Responsible for customer relationships in assigned territory either directly or via Manufacturing Sales Representatives.
- Acts as lead negotiator and facilitator of customer contracts and agreements (NDAs, pricing, share, VMI, etc.)
- Provide feedback to our Business Development, Product Marketing, and Overseas Affiliates (OSAs) from customers, distributors, and representatives. Responsible for the development of new customers and new product business in alignment with company-established Mass Market segment, technology, and product priorities. Ensures execution of defined strategies with regard to Portfolio Management (Markets, Customers, Products).
- Responsible for supporting the Area Sales Director/Manager with managing the assigned manufacturer sales representative in the territory. Providing critical support in the following areas and others as required; contracts (pricing), sales and design win efforts, customer relationships product promotion, competitive landscape, and commission-related matters.
- Develop, monitor, and manage Point of Sale (POS) and Original Equipment Manufacturers' (OEMs) forecasts for the assigned territory and/or area. Provide monthly reporting of significant changes in the business landscape (major win/loss, new customer engagement, new promotion activities, and any other relevant topics).
- Direct Sales Associates and Sales Planners' activities in support of assigned account(s). Will manage the Global Accounts Manager/Key Accounts Manager/Sales Engineer activities in line with company-established KGI/KPIs. Displays leadership that embodies our Corporate Philosophy (Shaze) and promotes the learning and growth of the team.
- Supports the Areas Sales Director with the overall management of the Profit & Loss for the assigned territory: expense control, SG&A, Account Receivables, inventories, contract negotiations, price negotiations, and commission matters.
Miscellaneous Job Responsibilities
- Prepare related CRM information pertinent to new opportunities, key personnel, segments, etc., and maintain appropriate databases.
- Effectively utilize Rep business reviews and scorecards to assure visibility and accountability.
- Proactively manage and oversee delinquent Accounts Receivable collections.
- Perform other job-related responsibilities and duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in the field of Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Minimum six+ years of directly related work experience.
- Knowledge of Murata's industry, basic business principles, cultural diversities, organization, and products.
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in interpersonal skills including effective collaboration and communication skills.
- Advanced problem-solving and negotiation skills with five+ years of experience negotiating high-level electronic component sales contracts.
- Advanced knowledge of the electronic component industry.
- Must possess basic knowledge of accounting principles.
- Well-developed facilitation skills to work among individuals from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in current Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Operating System as well as SalesForce CRM.
- Well-developed consultation skills to effectively manage client relationships at all levels.
- Well-developed presentation skills.
- Well-developed skills in leading and motivating subordinate employees.
- Must possess typing skills for accurate data entry.
- Must be adaptable and be able to consistently deal with ever-changing conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the volume manufacturing and marketing of electronic components, modules, and solutions.
- Prior management experience leading and directing a team of direct and indirect sales reports.
- Previous manufacturing sales experience.
- Previous inside sales experience.
- Previous experience in sales data collection and analysis.
- Marketing & market planning knowledge.
- In-depth knowledge of target market industries.
- Previous budgetary responsibilities.
Travel
Frequent domestic travel; infrequent international travel.
