Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Scrum Master to join our team to facilitate and guide teams in adopting and implementing the Scrum framework and agile principles to maximize productivity and deliver value to our customers. As a Scrum Master, you will work closely with stakeholders to organize and lead Scrum ceremonies, remove impediments, promote collaboration, and ensure adherence to Scrum principes and values in support of large-scale government programs. This position requires 25% travel in and around the Maryland, Virginia, and DC area.Ā

Requirements:Ā
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field or applicable work experienceĀ
- Secret security clearanceĀ
- Six years of experience as a Scrum Master, preferably in the government sectorĀ
- Working experience with product lifecycle managementĀ
- Safe Scrum Master Certification, Certified Scrum Master, or other applicable certificationĀ

Responsibilities:Ā

Facilitate and guide a software development product owner and team on how to use Agile/Scrum concepts, values, practices, and principles focusing on improving team effectivenessĀ

Encourage work completion without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work. Facilitate discussions and decision making and assist in mediation of conflictĀ resolution. Lead and guide the team on how to get the most out of self-organizationĀ

Give support using a servant leadership style whenever possible, lead by example, and demonstrate value-add principlesĀ

Assess the Scrum maturity of the team and organization, and coach to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable for the team and organizationĀ

Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgment, with an emphasis on problem solvingĀ

Respond to and remove reported impediments that obstruct a development team's pursuit of its goalsĀ

Work, collaborate, and communicate effectively, internally and externally, improving transparency and information sharingĀ

Organize and facilitate meetings, including preparing, moderating, and post processing. Help with product release planning and suspense enforcementĀ

Support and educate the product owner with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog and release planĀ Ā

As a Scrum Master, you will play a critical role in maximizing productivity and delivering value to our customers. Your expertise as a Scrum Master will ensure project timelines are met, risks are identified and managed, and project goals are realized. Your work will contribute to large scale successes in critical government programs. You will work in a collaborative and dynamic environment, interacting with various stakeholders.Ā
