SDET (L2), Video Engineering

Fox Digital Video Platform Group seeks a SDET, Video Engineering to design and implement test infrastructure for validating video features for consumer facing applications across all of Fox’s networks. This role is essential to providing our digital audience a great experience every time they press play and will be key to developing industry leading playback performance. As a SDET, Video Engineering, you will be working in an extremely fast paced environment where you’ll be expected to take ownership of testing video solutions and provide deep technical expertise across the entire software delivery process.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with Engineering/Product/Project Management and Backend Technology Services teams to test video player features that contribute to FOX video streaming initiatives.

• Lead the test infrastructure implementation of video workflows and video APIs

• Provide test case plans and documentation

• Collaborate with team members to test software using agile methodologies

• Willingness to stay up-to-date with the latest in emerging technologies/trends on web platforms

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent

• Excellent programming skills in JavaScript, NodeJS

• Experience testing components related to video playback, user interfaces, video metadata, and third-party integrations

• Experience with RESTful APIs, unit testing and end-end testing

• Git, SVN, Jenkins, Docker, Agile methodologies

• Excellent documentation skills, UML diagrams a plus

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with an ability to work in a highly collaborative environment

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

• Experience with video streaming technologies (HLS)

• Experience with performance analysis, load testing

• Experience with video QoE metrics

• Accomplish engineering and organization missions by completing related results as needed

• Participate in Tier 3 on-call rotation support for the services you and your team develop and operate
